I have some brand new desktops that I am making a dual boot for each
system with Linux and Windows. On 1 system, I am having an issue
with the USB keyboard and mouse in Windows only. Linux is working
perfectly. During the fresh Windows install which includes formating
the partition with the supplied XP SP2 CD, everything is fine. I
installed the needed software, and driver and rebooted windows. Then
the mouse and keyboard freeze after the automtic login of the user
created during the install. I have used the same software (i.e.
scanner and printer drivers etc...) on the other systems and the
drivers for the hardware (NIC, video card etc...) are off the cd that
was supplied with the system so a virus should not be an issue.
The bios, usb ports and other hardware should be fine because Linux is
running like a champ. The other desktop systems, which are
identical, work with Linux and Windows with no issues.
Any ideas what is causing this issue
