I know this isn't a java ng but the java ng's are all but dead. so if you
don't know then no need to wasting ur energy to post a "this is not a java
ng" ... nonetheless, i thot i would shoot in the dark.

I installed Sun's JRE 1.6.0_06 and edited both my PATH and CLASSPATH
variables to the appropriate directories.

PATH=C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_06\BIN;... etc

I have tried simple codes which I know work on a (another platform) but for
some reason they won't work on Windows XP Professional SP2.

_<I>any</I>_ help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
