Every now and then, when I have Internet Explorer running, suddenl
multiple windows begin to open repeatedly. I don't think it's a troja
or virus because it isn't different ads, it's the same site over an
over. I have to shut down the computer to get it to quit. Sometime
they open so fast I just have to push the button to shut down, and on
other time they opened slowly so I could disconnect from the interne
and that stopped it. Because they are the same site (once it was for
site on the help page for an application I was running). This last tim
it was just a second window I had open for Google, and it was in th
middle of connecting when I closed the window, but it came back ove
and over, trying to continue to connect to Google.

I only had a similar problem years ago when I had Weatherbug and
figured out it was that application that was causing it. I got rid o
it and didn't have it again until now. I saw that there is a "fix" fo
it on the Weatherbug site now. So... what does that mean? How does tha
relate to my problem now? What is causing this so I can fix it? If I a
away from the computer and windows keep opening over and over, won't i
crash the computer after a while?

Help???

There are various methods of "infesting" IE 7. It still can be a trojan and
you should do a complete scan with good anti-spyware / anti-virus systems.

Thanks for the reply. I did do a scan with AVG Internet Security (al
the bells and whistles) and came up with nothing.

I have IE 6, by the way.

One thing I noticed was that both times this happened, I was having tw
connections loading at the same time and tried to close one while it wa
still loading. In other words, two IE windows open, one loading a pag
from one website and the other starting to load a page from anothe
website, I changed my mind and tried to close the window. That's whe
it kept opening and trying to connect anyway, and I'd shut the windo
again and it would keep opening. Is there some explanation for this? I
so, I could possibly fix it?

Thanks!
