My problem started right after I installed the Catalyst and driver suite for
my Radeon 9600. Unfortunately, I don't remember the version number, but it
was right before the most recent driver, which I have also downloaded in the
hope it would fix the problem.

After installation my screen has been refreshing strangely (hopefully
refreshing is the right word). I took a video of it which is the link below:

Turning the hardware acceleration for my monitor completely off fixes the
problem, but I believe it causes other problems. How can I fix this problem
and still have my hardware acceleration up where it should be?

It worked! Thanks. I just hope that I don't run into other problems with an
outdated driver.
