Hello,
I have a Lexmark 4270 "All-N-One" fax/printer/scanner.
My "All-N-One" device suddenly stopped working. When I tried re-installing
the sw, then try to print a test page, the sys tells me my port is not
configured properly. I look into the properties/port of the printer, and
found the printer assigned to lpt1.

How do I configure lpt1 to accept commands for the USB port/printer.
I have looked on the web, but unable to find a "good" solution.
Can/will someone point in the right direction???

Thank you,

Charles L. Phillips

If your printer is connected via a USB port, you could try control panel,
printers and faxes. If your printer is listed there, right click on it,
click properties, ports tab, change it to a USB port.

Most printers that offer USB printing will configure their own
enhanced printer port (DOT?????) If the printer driver does not find
its printer port, a quick way is to uninstall and re-install the
drivers.

Hello,
I have the same problem with a Toshiba DP80F. When I want to print the
test page I get the error message "invalid port no in line 47
DP80F.DEV". This line says "port=LPT1". But even if I change it to
"port=USB001 (that is what my system offers when I install the printer"
it does not work. Does anybody know what I should type here instead?
(Windows XP, Notebook Samsung P55)
Thanks a lot,
Chris

Are you sure its a USB connection. I looked at the manual and it shows
a Parallel port on the side of the printer/fax unit?
