I am running XP with service pack2 and when I start up my computer I never
no what I will find on my desk top. The Icons on my folders sometime show
the picture that is suppose to be there and other times they are just plain
folders. I can still open the programs with the short cuts I was just
wondering if any one has any ideas as to what would cause this

Try this:
Right click the folder > Properties > Customize tab > Under Folder pictures
click the Choose picture button > Select the picture > Open > Click the Apply
button. Alternately click the Restore button. There should pictures inside
the folder or else no picture will show on the folder icon.
