It's probably the easiest option and the only one easily given to you
without being able to see your machine.
Being that you have SP3 - you should create an SP3 integrated installation
CD to utilize to perform the repair installation. Know that a repair
installation is usually non-destructive. However - whenver performing
something this large - it is always better to back up everything you can
(either through a BartPE boot CD or an imaging utility to backup the entire
disk 'as is' - those seem the easiest/most complete methods given your
situation.)
Also - I wouldn't be so sure your system is spyware/adware or virus/trojan
free - since it doesn't boot completely - how could you be? *grin* (You
might even have a hardware issue!)
