I have just tried to download and install SP3 and it downloads OK but after
30 mins. it still has not started to install. Is this normal?

Then you should just run the .exe file you downloaded. It should run
and extract all the files to a temp folder and then run the install from
the temp.

After you downloaded it, did you click on the exe file to start the
installation, or did you just leave it sitting there?

I have another problem it is not downloading at all from Microsoft Windows
Update I had 4 updates to download and install but only SP3 did not download
so any further help would be welcome and is there any other \i can do it.

SP3 should be separately downloaded/installed

1.Make an Image backup of the hard drive/Windows Partition before you
install SP3,

2.Test your System Restore to see if it is working correctly.

3.Make absolutely sure the machine's free of any hijackware, Trojan, or
virus infections before installing SP3.

4.Run Disk Cleanup then run a Defrag session before installing SP3.

5.Disable all real-time protections (anti-virus; anti-spyware; third-party
firewall) before installing SP3.

6. Reboot twice after installing SP3.
