lsass.exe

My computer has slowed down to a turtles pace. When I go to task manager, I
noticed that lsass.exe is consuming a lot of resources. What is the file?
Should it be consuming so many resources?

LSASS is the Local Security Authentication Server. It verifies the validity
of user logons to your PC/Server (in technical jargon : it generates the
process that is responsible for authenticating users for the Winlogon
service).

It does not consume much resources. Mine now is: CPU=00, Mem Usage=1,072K

C:\Windows\System32\LSASS.exe. If the path is anything else then you may
have a virus.

If your PC have two lsass.exe process, then one of them surely is a virus.
