I have tried to install an upgrade to RealPlayer V11. The install returns
an error message "You currently do not have Administrator access to the
Windows registry. Please see your system administrator to install
RealPlayer". I am the only user of this computer and have administrator
rights. Thinking this may be a RealPlayer issue I tried to re-install V10
which, by this time had been uninstalled by the upgrade. I am getting the
same message yet I originally installed this without a problem. I have run
a registry cleaner just in case something from the previous install was
lurking but to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas what is happening and, more importantly how to
fix it?

Thanks.

Since no one else has responded I decided to Google your error message.
The site below mentioned a RealPlayer issue!

Thanks JS. I am update Norton Internet Security and scan for threats very
regularly so, unless NIS has missed something that shouldn't be the cause of
the problem. I have been through the RealPlayer solutions to no avail.

Surely I'm not the only one to have encountered this problem? Any solutions
please?

Thanks.

Check this out... I just got done lloking into the registry regarding
realplayer. LOTS of references to Real Player 6 which, BTW, is not on my
computer any longer. I have no idea what might have happened to this
installation. I hadn't upgraded to newer versions and simply forgot about
Real Player until now (now that I NEED to have it...) Best fix for this I
think would be to run a registry cleaner to get rid of all the "orphan"
entries.
