I have tried to update Real Player 10 with Real Player 11. When that failed
I uninstalled and re-installed Real Player 11 with the same result. I then
uninstalled Real Player 11 and tried to install Real Player 10. This
results in an error message "You currently do not have Administrator access
to the Windows Registry. Please see your Administrator to install Real
Player". I have also tried booting up as Administrator but still get the
same error message. I really wish I hadn't tried to upgrade and I really do
need Real Player. I have also cleaned the registry with Registry Mechanic.

The fix at
http://real.lithium.com/real/board/message?board.id=realplayer&message.id=18156
has the same result.

Can anyone shed some light on the cause of this problem and, better still,
offer a fix?

Thanks.

Install RealPlayer Alternative:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_alternative.htm

There is an *unpatched* Highly Critical vulnerability in RealPlayer that
has been around since 1/3/08:

RealPlayer Unspecified Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
