Thanks Malke,
I recently modified my OS to show my name on the, and insead of, the 'Start
Button'. Unfortunately the price I pay for this is that the search feature
is no longer funtional.
So I need to replace or install a new search function for my XP. I'm not
adverse to a search program which I have to install to the registry I just
prefered it as the less you install into the registry the better.
Also, a couple of file search programs I've tried seem to want to access the
net and this is unacceptable. In anycase, with any program I install, I
first backup my registry in case the program is not siutable and I need to
unstall it.
That way, I can uninstall the program then reinstall my reg backup to make
sure all remnants are removed.
Thanks for letting me know about Ransack, I'll have a look at it.
Thanks for your help Malke.
