I'm not scared to admit it either.

So I was having two problems: VPN users accessing companyweb and I
wanted to setup PHP for my IIS install. I installed IIS after
grabbing the files referenced at www.iis.net/php and restarted IIS.
Then, I tried restarting IIS again later today to see if there was
something wrong with companyweb that my VPN users couldn't get to it.
I can internally, but it's veerryyy ssslllooowww. Apparently I have
done something at some point that has my IIS confused as hell.

When I open http://<server-name>/exchange in Internet Explorer, I get
a directory listing of all my Exchange users names. This is not what
it was doing yesterday. Yesterday (and obviously before) it would
show the Outlook Web Access if I went to http://<server-name>/exchange,
after prompting for credentials of course. I don't recall that I made
any particular changes to my Exchange directory, but now my Windows
Mobile 6 phone won't sync to the server either. In addition, if I try
to connect to https://<server-name>/oma/ (and it seems to accept my
credentials) I get:

The website declined to show this webpage
HTTP 403
Most likely causes:
This website requires you to log in.

What you can try:
Go back to the previous page.

so I think I totally hosed something here, and I don't have a clue
what it was. Any help?

Those are all of the pertinent details I can think of, but maybe if
you have a question you'll jog my memory of something else that I
might have done at some point down the line. I know I need to get the
Exchange ActiveSync back up and running, as the boss and salespeople
rely on this.

Yeah, except:
I wondered if there might be a known issue of <server-name>/exchange
giving a directory listing if you make blatantly stupid move X
I hadn't (at the time of the post - frantic and all that) done
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883380 yet
I know some of you guys, such as you Cris, have some really good
tricks up your sleeves

Lastly:
Can I pull a particular file out of the backup, such as the metabase
or something, or would it be more involved than that?

Okay, double checked the davex per the KB below, and applied the KB I
mentioned of recreating the VDs, but now I'm back to old familiar,
0x85010014, which I have notes on, so if I have further problems, I'll
have to repick this thread, or something. Oh why oh why oh why does
0x85010014 love to taunt me so?

/me muttering FTP, why didn't I think to call it FTP style listing,
sheesh

Re: I have screwed up Exchange ... Now it's OMA and 0x85010001 by Cole

Cole
Wed May 14 15:29:44 PDT 2008

Okay, no matter what I try, I'm not able to get rid of 0x85010001 on
the WM6 phone

If I goto http://<server-name>/OMA in IE7 i get: (or https://)
Item no longer exists. The item you are attempting to access may
have been deleted or moved.
Home

I'm stuck and frustrated. Can anyone lend a pair of fresh eyes and
help me focus away from the circle I'm in.

I've done the 817379 and 883380, as well as a smattering of other
tries. I've CEICW'd and I turned off FBA, and I just did a fresh
883380, so everything is working except mobile sync or OMA.

Also, just for s*grins, If I goto C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\OMA\Sync
on the server, the directory is empty. Is this the source of my
frustruation?

I'll gladly open my latest backup or whatever and pull those out, but
I hadn't been near the hard drives today until I started looking for
this fix, and was perusing the local addys for the files.

Should I still check for OWA issues since Web Access does indeed work,
it's just OMA that's messed up?

I've been crawling bits of that site, so I'll keep plugging at it...

I have fixed OMA also. I do not recall if msexchange helped on that or
not. It has been 2 years since that adventure.

Okay, I kept reapplying the steps, and I can OMA from the device, or
the computer, albeit with the unrecognized device error, and I can OWA
from the computer or the phone, but I can't sync against activesync,
due in part to the unrecognized device, I imagine.

I just had to eventually quit last night, so I will retackle it
today... But thanks to those who've given assistance.
