Hi.

I have Win2003 SBS PRO server running Exchange 2003. I'm using MS POP3
connector for Exchange to download mails from single POP3 mailbox for my
domain.

From time to time the POP3 delivery just blocks. This offten happen
when I receive a big (e.g. 3MB). In such a case, the mail is writen to
hard drive in:
----
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business
Server\Networking\POP3\Incoming Mail
----

All mails downloaded after that are also stored in that folder and never
delivered (it seams that POP3 connector blocks on the 'big mail'). When
I remove the 'big mail' from the Incoming folder the delivery process
just goes on when the next delivery is scheduled (every 15 minutes).

I don't think that it is a problem of 'big mail' because biger mails
were already delivered.

I'm getting the following error:
----
An error occurred while retrieving messages from the Incoming Mail queue
for delivery. The error code is -2147024864.
----

I'm running NOD32 antivirus (XMON - Exchange antivirus + AMON - active
monitoring) on that server.
Should be the active monitoring disabled for Exchange POP3 Incomming
Mail folder?

Dezo

Are you sure that it solves the problem?
I told nod not to scan those folders and the problems happens still. Even
with nod closed it happens. As soon as a message is over 3Mb it gives that
damn

"An error occurred while retrieving messages from the Incoming Mail queue
for delivery. The error code is -2147024864."

I need help!!!!!!!

Hi Luigi,

I can't find anything with that error code. Can you turn up the logging on
the pop3 connector, restart the pop3 connector service, and watch your
eventlogs? How are you connecting to the internet? How often does the pop3
connector retrieve the mail?

Restarted, eventlog as usual (where is the connector log file stored?) :

An error occurred while retrieving messages from the Incoming Mail queue for
delivery. The error code is -2147024864.

We use a simple ADSL always up, fixed IP. Mail retrieved every 15 minutes.

Thanks,

Not sure the last post arrived so I say again:

Restarted the event viewer show the same error. If I get away that 3Mb file
all works fine, otherwise mail stay there.

We use ADSL always up, fixed IP. Connector set to get mail every 15 min.
Is there a private log file of the connector?

Thanks,

Maybe....

or maybe scanning the incoming POP3 folder with your AV software?

I meant restarting the pop3 connector service after turning up the logging.
Then you will find all events in the Applicationlog.
Also, can you check if there is anyting in the failed mail or badmail
folders of the pop3 connector?

I checked the article but no luck cause I already tried that, it seems
similar problem.
I look at the log with maximum detail log for the connector. No other errors
than the one I wrote and the one that say: The delivery process finished with
one or more errors.

Reinstalling pop3connector could help?
There's nothing in bad mail or failed mail, only in the incoming folder.
The strange is that smaller mails pass..

Let me know if you discover anything!
Thanks!
