I just set up a Windows Mobile 6 phone (via Verizon service so syncing
wireless). There are strange things happening with Inbox email and I'm not
sure what is causing it. This is running from an SBS 2003 Std R2
server/Exchange

1. The phone will only sync the standard Inbox/Sent Items folders and no
others. I have gone into the phone and selected the folders I want to sync
but no messages are downloaded to the phone for those folders. Messages are
in the folders via Outlook and OWA.

2. The Inbox on the phone (and via Outlook Web) only displays messages for
the past 5 days. I haven't been able to verify the full Outlook client yet.
I'm not sure what is limiting these messages.

Thanks!

One more piece to add to this. The Inbox is not retaining based on date of
message but will only allow 25 messages max in the Inbox. When a new mail
message arrives it dumps the oldest one.

In article <OUYDhpYrIHA.4376@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl>,
crisnospamhanna@cpunospamservices.net says...
> These are all settings you have to setting up in ActiveSynch via the desktop...you can't do it on the phone alone

Why I do phones, I only use ActiveSync to install the certificate in a
folder on the phone (in a folder on the root), never doing the active
sync for Exchange on the desktop.

Once I have the cert I use the phone for everythind and never use the
USB cable again.

I have never completed an active sync desktop session that does anything
with exchange or outlook - not on my phones at least.

So are we talking about going to ActiveSync on the desktop and making
adjustments there? I can see where ActiveSync can control how many messages
make it to the phone from the Exchange account but I don't ever remember
anything in ActiveSync that says how many overall messages should stay in the
Inbox in the Exchange account.

OK, to add a little more to this. When I look at the mail via OWA it only
displays 25 messages (dropping off old ones when new ones come in) but in the
Outlook heavy client there is alot more mail in the Inbox so it is there.
What's controlling the display of only 25 messages (and only those 25 making
it to the phone) in OWA?

I also only set up activesync from the phone with the cert like Leythos.

This strange but there is probably a simple answer.

Sometimes I wonder if my head is screwed on straight. As I'm writing the
previous post I'm thinking in the back of my head.... this is not a paging
issue (1-25, 26-50,51-75 etc) issue is it and I'm just not paying attention?

YES it is in OWA. Dumb me!

I still have the phone issues with not syncing all of the folders to the
phone but at least I don't have email dropping out of the Inbox.

Have you tried going through the settings in activesync (via USB) yet?

I have not tried that yet but I have never had to in the past when setting
