First time I have done a site-to-site type setup before and we are having
some DNS issues that I would like to bounce off someone. This may be to much
to cover in this posting but here goes.

SBS site is on 192.168.15.x network.
Win2K3 2nd site is 10.100.0.x network
tied together with Netgear firewalls

Setup 2nd site in AD and replicates with no problems - works well.

DNS at 2nd site forwards to SBS site - this is where I am wondering if I am
not setup correctly....

Multiple times a day we intermittently loose DNS - can ping remote site by
IP but not by name - vpn tunnel is still operational - cannot get to Internet
by name.

I know this was broad information but hopefully that can help get us started.

Thanks for the help guys & gals.

On the remote site
when you Typle IPCONFIG /ALL
what does it show for the DNS

Also What are the DNS of the routers configured at?

Also I'd make sure the SBS Box is the Master Browser.
(I've seen this fix lots of internal DNS problems)

On the SBS Box

RegEdit
Set IsDomainMaster to "TRUE" (Default is FALSE)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters\IsDomainMaster

And on the other box make it FALSE of course.

ipconfig all on remote site only shows itself as DNS.
DNS on remote site is configured to forward to ISP DNS & SBS Server at HQ.

The 2 netgear firewalls are configured with only the ISP DNS. The remote
site is dynamic IP so we are using dyndns.org.
