I'm running very low on space on C and getting disk low alerts, less than
one gig left. I have moved exchange to another drive and applied SBS SP1
and exchange SP2. Trend seems to not be deleting the def files anymore
since the move and patching and I'm finding myself have to delete the 16 meg
files manually. Have I missed a Trend C/S/M patch or something?

safe from my experience, also you can delete those temp files from updates
in C:\windows\system32 that are the "ghost-like" folders with KB article
number and save room there.

Thanks, I'll do that because there are a bunch of them.

Bob,

How long have you been running SBS 2003 on the that server? I regulary meet
people who have never archived their IIS logs which can after some years
amount to a significant amount of diskspace. Check the
C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles for the subfolder(s) containg the IIS logs, zip
them up and move them of teh disk or if you don't need 'm for any reason you
can delete' m ... I've freed up to 2 GB's on some servers this way (all be
it not SBS 2003)

Cheers!

....better to move them to another location, as you can't uninstall
hotfixes/patches if you delete the associated folders. But I think they're
in %systemroot% and not in the \system32 folder.
