I did a swing once several years ago and don't remember exactly how it went.
And I can't get into my swingmigration.com account because I forgot the
password, and the email address I used at the time no longer exists so I am
waiting for my account to be updated with my new email address... anyway.

I have a client who is currently on SBS 2003 and is planning on replacing
the hardware and running the transition pack to standard versions of the
server apps. The transition pack is for R2 so our plan is to swing the
current SBS to the new hardware upgarde to SBS R2 and then transtition from
there.

Can I save a step and swing directly from SBS2003 to SBS2003 R2? that is use
the SBS 2003 R2 media to build the TempDC and the final new DC? It would
seem possible to me since the R2 technologies are a separate disc and would
be run at the end of SBS setup - am I right?

Thanks for the help.
Tony

I see no reason why you can't. because the temp DC won't have the R2 =

But again, if you are doing a swing migration using the kit, all =
questions should be directed there

I agree, ping Jeff directly. But that being said, I think you are fine using
the SBS CD1 from SBS R2 for building the TempDC, but I'd refrain from using
a Windows Server 2003 R2 disk - I'm not sure at what point the schema
upgrade would come into play, and you'd rather not have that before you've
got it successfully migrated.

As long as you run the R2 ADPrep so R2 will operate properly, you should be
fine.
