I have a Windows XP SP3 client as a Domain Client for SBS SP2. When trying to
print from the Small Business Server Share Network Printer I receive an
onscreen message "print failed" and nothing is printed. Thinking it was a
permission problem I shared the printer out as all users in Domain, also gave
the user Printer Operator Rights. Same Problem. There is nothing that shows
up in the Domain Event Errors or locally on the client Event Errors. Anyone
have any ideas to try?

First (and only) thing that comes to mind is to open and check the
Printers and Faxes folder on the client PC. I've had a few issues
lately when making some changes when the default printer "changed" to
the Fax or the XPS Doc Writer. Changing the default printer to a
"real" printer did the trick.

Just a thought.

I actually do not have either of those printers on the client computer. I
did try and make a local driver for the printer on the client and received
the same error. The Default Printer is always the one I am trying to use.
Also logged in as domain Administrator on the client and received the same
error.

I wonder if it has something to do with the XP SP3 upgrade?

I don't have any experience with SP3 so can't comment.

You say the printers aren't on the client when you checked; when you
did Add Printer, did you check 'select network printer" (words to that
effect)? And were they listed in the Directory? If so, I would
recommend those choices than trying to install a local printer.
