HI All,

Not sure if I'm posting in the right group....

We are running SBS 2003 R2 w/exchange SP2.

One of my users connects to exchange via Outlook 2007. For some reason,
outlook will not auto send/receive upon connecting to thee xchange. The user
has to manually hit "send/receive". This also occurs when sending new
messages, the user has to hit "send/receive". in order for the message to go
out. I've tweaked with the users outlook settings without effective results.
None of the other users have this problem. Any help or direction would be
most appreciated. Thanks so much in advance!
-mike

Users should never have to hit send/receive - make sure that only Exchange
exists in the profile, and that (if the user has cached mode enabled) they
see "Connected" in the lower right hand corner. If they see "Disconnected"
or "Offline", that's the problem. Click there to correct.

Most welcome. It's good to train users to look over there before they panic
and call you.

I am having the same problem but a little different. My Exchange account
sends and receives jut fine, but all my pop accounts do not send and received
as scheduled until I hit the send and receive button. I have check the
settings and all my pop accounts are supposed to send/receive every 5 mins
but they dont. I do have my exhcange connection configured to use RPC over
HTTP

First, let me mention that if you have a problem, it is always best to start
a new thread (unless you started the original thread AND the problem is
unresolved.) Since this isn't even the same problem as the original thread,
and you weren't the original poster...yeah....anyways.

How have you configured the system to retrieve messages from your pop
accounts? Configured on the server or in outlook?

If it is the server then you should be seeing errors in the event log for
the pop3 connector. Posting those would be helpful. If, however, this isn't
a server issue, then I'd recommend posting in an office/outlook newsgroup,
as SBS is obviously doing its job (Exchange is working.)

Good luck!

As I said, you are better off starting a new thread and posting FULL
details.

Many people don't use web based readers because of their limitiations
(myself included.) And many NNTP servers don't keep all messages, so
depending on how often a user flushes their database and how often they
check in...old threads may be 'gone' and your reply appears out of context
with no back story. It is just best to start a new thread since you aren't
the original poster. Trust me on this, you'll get better results...
