You are just a smidge early as SBS 2008 will be out in the future.
But you can use the migration docs from Sharepoint v2 to move it to
sharepoint v3 on that Win2k8 system.

Hello Cam,

Thank you for your post and thanks for Susan's great help.
My name is Gary Wang, and it is my pleasure to work with you on this issue!
Please allow me to confirm that my understandings are correct. As I
understand it, the issue is:

You want to know how to migrate SBS sharepoint internal website to a new
2008 server.

If I have misunderstood your concerns please feel free to let me know.

Suggestion :
==============
SharePoint service v2 is not supported on Windows Server 2008. And you
cannot install Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 without service packs on
Windows Server 2008.

Based on my search, I would like to suggest that you check the following:

1. Please refer to following KB article to install Windows SharePoint
Service 3.0 on Windows Server 2008 at first.

How to install Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 on a computer that is
running Windows Server 2008
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943587

2. Then please refer to the following link to move SBS sharepoint service
database to new Server 2008 with SharePoint Service 3.0 Server.

How to move a WMSDE content database that resides on a Windows SharePoint
Services 2.0 server to a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 server
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925190

Another method you may like is as below:

1. Refer to the following documents to upgrade your SBS sharepoint service
from v2 to v3.

Upgrading to Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 technology
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=85554

Upgrading to Windows SharePoint Services 3.0

2. Migrate SharePoint Service by using internal tools:

Migrate Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 by using built-in tools
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc288664(TechNet.10).aspx

And for more detailed information about how to migrate from Windows Share
Point Service 2.0 to 3.0 on Server 2008, I would like to suggest that you
to use SharePoint newsgroup for which should be the most relevant newsgroup
for your question:

By the way, for SBS migrate to Windows Server 2008, we usually recommend
that apply transition pack on SBS2003 at first. Then this is Windows 2003
with Exchange 2003 now. After that you can check following documents to
upgrade/migrate from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 server:
