Folks:

My customer is reporting that the following error message has recently
started popping up (within the last week). Prior to this, all the messages
were being sent and received by the recepient correctly.

What can I do about this. I searched Google without any helpful results.

It is important that this recepient be able to receive our emails.

We are using SBS 2003 R2 with all the latest service packs and Exchange
2003.

Please help...

There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's

You appear to be on the PBL list of spamhaus. your ISP has reported to
spamhaus that the IP address you use, which is not given, is not to be
sending mail.

Did you happen to follow the links included in the NDR?

Would the IP you use be 64.237.134.168?

If so then you are listed

http://www.spamhaus.org/query/bl?ip=64.237.134.168

I would suggest contacting:

OrgName: Puerto Rico Telephone Company

Address: Ave. Roos. 1513 P-3 rd floor
City: San Juan P. O. Box 360998

If you are using a dynamic IP for sending mail the error message states you
may have problems. I don't think you need to search Google to determine
that.

Not according to the IP address you are posting from, if you do not give
us the info to address the problem, then do not expect much help.

What is the public IP address the mail server sends from.

From the mail server goto www.whatismyip.com and post what the IP is.

Please do not top post either, it makes reading the thread difficult.

When you ping you mail server mailourdomain.com is this from inside the
network? If so are you getting a reply from 192.168.X.X or 172.16.1.X or
10.0.0.X? You need to either give us the external IP address or the
domain you are sending from, ourdomain.com

Also as requested in the first post, have you visited the links supplied

I am not on site. The IP address you are seeing is from my remote office
and not from the site we are having the problem.

I prefer not to post my actual domain name or ip addresses for security
reasons.

Sorry we can't help you if you're not willing to supply info to help you
with. You'll have to convince msn that your IP is ok. If you truly have a
static IP then that shouldn't be hard to do. What results do you see when
you run the domain name in dnsreports?

Kind of like going to the doctor and telling him your sick, but not
going to say where it hurts!

The fact that you have public DNS records pretty much makes that reasoning
moot. If you have public DNS records pointing to your server, hackers
already know you exist.

If you are still scared, just break it up with crap characters, such as mail
dot 4325324532%% REALDOMAINNAME DOT wtf99. That way, you get the warm and
fuzzy feeling that hackers don't know about you, and we get to help you!

Did you read the NDR correctly? The NDR itself gives you a resolution. Check
if your IP is blacklisted on internet. Make sure that you have your MX
record configured correctly. So that if I run a nslookup for your domain
name I should be able to get the correct information belonging to your
domain.

You can check if your IP is blacklisted at www.mxtoolbox.com or spamhaus.org
as well. Windows Live perform a blacklisting look up at spamhaus.org RBL. If
you find your sending IP blacklisted then you may need to send an email to
corresponding authority. Steps are given on the website.
