Greetings:

Every time I try to add users using either a template or manually, the Add
User Wizard hangs
at the 50% mark during the "Configuring Group Membership Settings" phase

This makes me have to Kill the app in Taskmanager in order to close the
wizard. I can't imagine
subsequent users being configured correctly after this.

Using SBS 2003 Premium Edition with all updates to date.

Thank you for any assistance you can offer.

Jack,

Are you running a dual CPU machine by any chance?

If so, check your application event log for an error message that has a path
that has f: and titanium in it. Also, you might find that the new user
wizard as well as the group membership problem has not created a mailbox for
the user.

If you have that, there is a hotfix available from MS that fixes a problem.
It only affected dual CPU boxes and gave the symptoms on not creating group
membership properly and not creating the exchange mailbox correctly.

Hope this helps

Karl,

That is exactly what happened. I have a dual xeon 2.4 ghz server. The
event log reports in MSexchange AL
an Unhandled Exception in f:\titanium\.......\lservagent.cpp (line 4511 /
and line 1380)

I checked the msft site and found the following link to the issue:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;837444

I tried the workaround by restarting the System Attendent service (and of
course the dependent store service) and
a subsequent new user creation worked fine.

The site recommended waiting until the next service pack, I will do so if
this doesn't become too problematic unless
you all think I should do otherwise.

Thanks Karl.

D
