My SBS 2003 Premium Extended Server Usage report under monitoring and
reporting just contains::

Outlook Web Access Activity by User
Outlook Web Access Usage by Hour

However my Brotherâ??s SBS STD Edition has additional info contained in his
Extended Server Usage Report:

E-mail Sent
E-mail Received

How can I get these last 2 to show up in my report?

Many thanks
Ian

Hello Ian,

Thank you for posting here.

According to your description, I understand that you want your Extended
Server Usage report for SBS including Email sent and received information.
If I have misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Based on my research, I suggest we try the following steps to see if we can
resolve this issue:

Suggestion 1: Create new report:
a. Open Server Management console, locate on Monitoring and Reporting node
b. Click View Usage Report, click Create New Report button at the beginning
of the report
c. Select Show extended usage report (Web, e-mail, remote connections and
fax)
d. select a Time Range, click Create Report button.

Then, you will see the Email sent and received information in the report.

Suggestion 2: If the problem still after the above steps, the Monitoring
and Reporting component may corrupted, you need to reinstall the Monitoring
and Reporting on SBS:

Reinstall monitoring component
================
Note: Please make a full backup of the SBS 2003 server before the following
steps.

I. Uninstall Monitoring

1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove
Programs.
2. Select Windows Small Business Server 2003 and then click
Change/Remove. The Setup Wizard appears.
3. Click Next to start the wizard.
4. On the Windows Configuration page, click Next.
5. On the Component Selection page, in the Action column, change
Server Tools to Maintenance, change Monitoring component to Remove, and
then click Next.
6. On the Component Summary page, click Next.
7. Click Finish.

II. Uninstall Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (SBSMONITORING)

In Add or Remove Programs, select Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine
(SBSMONITORING) and then click Remove. A dialog box appears. To confirm
that you want to remove, click Yes.

III. Rename the folder

Start Windows Explorer, and then locate and rename the following folder:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$SBSMONITORING

to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\Old.MSSQL$SBSMONITORING

IV. Use Registry Editor to delete the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\SmallBusinessServer\Monitoring
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\SBSMonitoring

V. Install the Monitoring component

1. In Add or Remove Programs, select Windows Small Business Server
2003 and then click Change/Remove. The Setup Wizard appears.
2. Click Next.
3. On the Windows Configuration page, click Next.
4. On the Component Selection page, in the Action column, change
Server Tools to Maintenance, change Monitoring component to Install, and
then click Next.
5. On the Logon Information page, click Next.
6. On the Component Summary page, click Next.
7. Click Finish.

Then, you can rerun the CEICW on SBS and perform suggestion 1# again to see
if it help.

I hope these steps will give you some help.

Thanks and have a nice day!

Best regards,

Terence Liu(MSFT)

Hi Terence, I have reinstalled the Monitoring but it now says I must run the
latest service packs is this correct? Or will WSUS 3.0 take care of this for
me?
Thanks

Hello Customer,

Thank you for your update.

What's version of your SBS 2003? If you do not apply the SBS 2003 sp1, you
can perform the following steps:

Downloading and Installing Windows Small Business Server 2003 Service Pack 1
http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/0/f/e0fee8ce-768d-41c0-8871-9bc48e0
b3fc3/ToDownLoadFilesandReadInstructions.htm

Then, you can also apply the Windows Server 2003 sp2 on SBS:

Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (32-bit x86)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=95ac1610-c232-4644-
b828-c55eec605d55&DisplayLang=en

Does the report issue resolve by reinstall Monitoring component on SBS?

I think the WSUS 3.0 has no relationship with this report issue.

I hope these steps will give you some help.

Thanks and have a nice day!

Best regards,

Terence Liu(MSFT)

There are different kinds of Service Packs for an SBS 2003 complete
enviroment.

SBS2003 itself has one SP and thats SP1
Windows Server has two, SP1 and SP2, you have SP2 as you stated.
Exchange server has two, SP1 and SP2.

Therence/we that reads to help out needs to now what you have regarding
servicepacks.

Pls run SBS BPA to see what version you have and not have. It will also show
you issue thats needs to be fixed, even though they might not be related to
this case.
