Here's what's happening. Your stores grow as necessary to accommodate new
data. When you delete data, the stores don't shrink, they then contain
"slack" space in place of the deleted data. So you could have a 20 GB
store, and delete 2 GB of data. You'll end up with a 20 GB store containing
18 GB of data. That's why the entries you posted refer to physical and
logical size.
I still think the fix for this is what I originally posted. If you go to
the article I cited, and verify that all your settings match those
recommended there, you should be good to go.
You can see what I'm referring to about slack space in the application log
entry below. My public store has 594 mb of unused space in the database,
and when we add data, that space will fill up before Exchange increases the
physical size of the store. My physical store is 594 mb larger than my
logical store.
