Re: Error (407) Proxy Authentication Required - Kindly Help! by Dave

First, do you have the Firewall Client installed, configured, and enabled on
the workstation? If not, please do that and see if your app starts working.
Failing that, go into the ISA console and open the properties of the SBS
Internet Access Rule. Go to the Users tab, click Add, and add "All Users."
Click the button at the top of the ISA console to apply the change, and see
if the application now works. If it works now, the app is not working right
with the ISA authentication that should be getting handled by the firewall
client. What I recommend is to then look at the SBS Microsoft Update rule
in ISA. Create a new rule pattered after that one, but pointing to the
app's site instead of MU. Enable that rule, and remove "All Users" from the
Internet Access rule.
I've got a couple of apps where I see this problem, but I don't need regular
access to their update servers. What I do is, on the rare occasions where I
need to check for updates or whatever, I make the change to the Internet
Access rule, update the app, and then change the rule back. Since I don't
need constant or frequent access, I'd rather edit the rule for a few
minutes, then put it back.

No...I am trying to do this from within the SBS network, from a
workstation connected to the SBS server via the switch. Is there
something I am doing wrong?
