Is the SBS2003 service called "Cryptographic Services" usually set to
automatic and started on a default SBS2003 SP1 install? This service is not
starting and I'm getting the error below. But before I spent a lot of time
troubleshooting this, I wanted to double check and make sure that it was
supposed to be started.

**********ERROR*************
Could not start the cryptographic services service on local computer.

Error 998: invalid access to memory location.

Hi Brandon,

It is set to automatic (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829623 for a
list of default services that are installed in Windows Small Business Server
2003) by default. I just checked our SBS box and it is running. Also,
Windows Server 2003 SP2 is supposed to correct for a memory leak in
cryptographic services (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/914962/en-us) so
install that before spending too much time on troubleshooting (should be
running SP2 anyways). ;-)

Hope that helps,
Steve
