    - Reading email messages in sub-folders of my inbox I use Outlook 2007 with rules to automatically file email into various sub-folders of my Inbox. On my WM6 smartphone I can navigate to my Inbox's sub-folders, but they all appear empty and none of the messages that should be there are visible. I've been told by my mobile carrier (Vodafone) that this functionality is not supported. But Iknow that it is supported on a BlackBerry (argh!!). Can anyone help?     - About forced EDGE connection by my IPAQ 514 Hi all, I'm using HP IPAQ 514 voice messenger. Sometimes my phone tries to connect to EDGE forcefully, and get stucked for 5-7 mins. even tough there is application running. If I want to dial a number at the same time, it gives me the message - "Cannot complete your call, signal may not be available or device is busy................." Can anyone please help me out? what is happening and how to turn it off? I've taken this as a virus and tried Symantec PDA security, AVAST PDA edition and even Trend MACRO mobile security. all reports are null, there is not virus on my phone, still this thing continues. It happends twice or thrice in a day, no scheduled time to occur.. It is a brand new phone and shared with only trusted (clean) devices and my home wifi network only.     - Recommended new PPC? I love my iPAQ 2210, and it's given me great service over the years. But after several recent total losses needing full restore (probably due to a failing backup battery, which I gather is hard-soldered so I can't easily fix), I reckon the time has come to upgrade. It's not the cost that has held me back, but the anticipated hassle of getting all my programs (WM 2003) reinstalled and everything set up sweetly again. Oh, and buying a new leather case ;-( So I'd greatly appreciate recommendations from others please, especially anyone who has upgraded from 2210/2215. My main requirements are: 1) Easy installation of all or most of my existing WM2003 programs. 2) Bluetooth (because I have a little GPS receiver which communicates via Bluetooth). 3) Hopefully a brighter screen; the 2210 is very hard to see outdoors. 4) Improved battery life. 5) Supports at least an SD card, and ideally an CF card as well, like my 2210. 6) Obviously must have headphone socket. My 2210 is my portable music player - one of my main applications (Pocket Music). I'm not into smartphones etc (hardly use my bog-standard 'phone), so I'm only looking for a PPC.     - Partnership with new PC I have an ipaq 2215 that I sync with my work PC. I use Active Sync to sync with MS Outlook for contacts and tasks, and I use Cadenza to sync with Lotus Notes for the calendar. As part of an upgrade program, I received a new PC and my old PC was taken away. I now want to partner my ipaq with the new PC. What is the best way to do this? I was thinking of deleting the contacts, tasks and calendar files on my ipaq, then load ActiveSync and Cadenza on my new PC and create a new partnership. Is this the best way to go?     - How to run GSPlayer on pocket PC Hi to all I download open source audio player (GSPlayer) from internet. i build it in visual studio by selecting "windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC sdk(ARMV4I)" Solution plateform and "release" as the solution configuration. It build successfully I try to connect to emulator and active sync it is connected successfully. But when i run to check its functionality it gives an error and stops. I check the out put directory it does not create any exe file rather only some .obj and .res files. I want to run it on device emulator to see its functionality.     - Word completion dictionary editor for WM6? I'm considering the purchase of a WM6 device after a number of years of extensive use of WM5. One of the most useful utilities on my WM5 device was a "Word Completion Dictionary Editor," which I used to add words to the list of suggestions that appear when word completion is enabled (Start > Settings > Personal > Input > Word Completion). I added a variety of words that weren't included in the default dictionary, including surnames, e-mail addresses, industry terminology, and so on. I've been playing with an emulated WM6 device, and WM6 does not support the utility. Web searches have made it clear that none of the dictionary editors that worked on WM5 are working on WM6 devices, emulated or real. Does anyone know a solution to this issue? Possible solutions could include: * a method for editing WM6's (evidently well-hidden) dictionary file manually * a referral to an updated or new editor that works with WM6, preferably freeware.     - eten Glofiish x800 vs Tilt Need to spend out some money by mid June, and I'm looking to meld my Pocket PC (my Toshiba e350 is spiralling down) with my phone. I'm very comfy with the platform. I'm looking at the Glofiish x800, but hear its a bit low in terms of RAM, so it's making me compare to the Tilt. Also, the HTC touch diamond is looming, but mid June would be my natural cutoff.     - Shortcut to My Device? On my old PC I used to have an item in my XP Home 'Send To' folder which would let me send a file to my Pocket PC. In an Explorer folder I would r-click, select Send To, then choose My Device (or something like that), and I could then browse to the PPC target folder.     - PocketPc SD card I have Windows mobile 5 installed, on a Mio P550 Pocket pc. I have just had a repair done including a new motherboard. But since |I got it back I cannot copy or paste to my sd card, it says it is write protected. Although I have no problems copy and pasting when the sd card is inserted in my desktop.     - Music on an iPAQ I just purchased an HP iPAQ 211 running Windows Mobile 6. There are a couple of programs that I use to listen to music on my desktop -- Pandora and radioio -- but I can't get them to play on my iPAQ. I am guessing it is because they use Adobe Flash Player which, I don't believe, came with my iPAQ. Is there any way I can get these programs working?     - Macro program? Can anyone recommend programs for my iPAQ 2210 (WM2003) which would let me run a program at say 5 minute intervals to apply operations to another running program please? IOW run a 'macro' at set intervals? This is to get around a serious deficiency in my Memory-Map program. It doesn't take a backup when it closes, nor does it allow automatic scheduled backups. So, to minimise the risk of losing a GPS recording during a walk, I have to regularly manually save a backup file. So in effect I need two things: 1) A simple version of the System Scheduler on my desktop PC 2) A macro program Ideally these functions would be combined, but I suspect two separate programs will be needed. Welcome to the club... this has been an annoying feature since the ppc
was introduced in 2000... afaik, no workarounds are available.

A couple of ppc's were introduced where this didn't happen, but those
who peeked into the registry and elsewhere (myself included) couldn't
find any differences)

Sometimes I'm getting fantasies strangling those guys who invent all the
annoying shit which can't even be disabled. I suppose this is based on the
(stupid) assumption that users are always going to use their PPC when they
insert a memory card...
