Hello

I recently got an HTC Touch and I was wondering if there is a keyboard
available that mimics the convential format of a number keypad, whereby
numbers 0-9, represent ABC, DEF, etc.... I used to have an SPV M5000, which
had this functionality, but for some reson I cannot find it in the HTC
Touch?

Kind regards

Ricky

Think you might be referring to "T9" or other input method to text with
the phone keypad only?

If so, the software is proprietary and, afaik, is not available unless
the oem includes it in rom... you might pull the arrow next to the input
box (lower right) and see if any of the options might be what you need,
but, if not, don't know of a solution.

In general, would assume that the oem assumption would be that if there
are other text input options such as the sip and hardware keyboards,
it's not needed.

I have a Touch as well, and purchased the TenGO Thumb keyboard for it.
I find it works great! You may want to check it out.

Thanks for the tips guys. Beverly, I did try to look for other input types,
it's got the usual, Block/Transcriber, etc... I suspect Orange UK may have
taken it out, shame because it was very usefull on the SPV M5000.

May check out the TenGo application, see what it's all about.

Kind regards

Ricky

Hi

I have heard that HTC are offering a keyboard for their Touch phones,
however it is only available for people who have directly purchased from
them, is there anyone else offering this?

Kind regards

Ricky

Don't know anything about htc's offer, but, if you are asking about an
external keyboard, there are several bluetooth (the only connect method
I would currently recommend) folding keyboards which will work with ppc's.

Hello Beverly,

Thanks for your reply, I was actually referring to an article I read on
CoolSmartphone.com, where they say that back in Oct 2007 sometime, HTC are
offering a Virtual Keyboard download for their customers?

Kind regards
Ricky
