My iPAQ 2210 is for some reason switching itself on overnight. The
first time I discovered this I wrote it off as a minor issue. But it
happened again last night when I'd forgotten to replace it in its
cradle. This morning it wouldn't switch on until I reset it, and then
gave me the warning that battery was too low.

I'd appreciate some help in how to identify the reason for its
switching on please.

I believe all pda's switch on at midnight to read the calendar.
Problems happen when something running keeps it from turning back off.
Close all programs, use the close active programs dialog, just clicking
the X doesn't do it, before shutting it down. If that fixes the problem,
try one at a time to see what's holding it up.

Another problem is active sync wanting to run. There's a thread
on aximsite.com about "fake server hack" that may be relevant.

Also check the timeouts in the power settings. On (only) one past
device I determined that it was necessary to assure that no two timeout
settings were the same... i.e. screen and power each had a unique value.

Thanks both, I'll try those suggestions.
