This is driving me crazy

the buttons on my XDA have stopped working. None of the buttons under the
screen work, the camera button does work, the jog wheel doesn't work
(although if I press it, it brings up the start menu), the voice command and
ok buttons don't work. The on/off button seems to be OK.

I've checked the soft buttons are correctly assigned in
Start>Settings>Buttons

I've downloaded and installed MyMobiler (which allows control from the
desktop) the notes, messaging, contacts and calendar buttons on the toolbar
at the bottom of the Mymobiler screen on the PC all function but the talk
and call end buttons don't.

I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software problem - can anyone help
please?

Thanks

Neil

A hard reset will tell you (your manual covers how to do this). If after a
hard reset it still plays up then its hardware, if not then software and to
find which is the culprit install each program one at a time then soft reset
and test after each new program.

I've done a little more investigation
the keyboard doesn't work at all
the on screen keyboard is mostly ok, but the backspace and left and
right arrows don't work
the power button doesn't always work when the device has switched itself
off (I have to do a soft reset then!)

Other than that, I am no nearer a solution except that I have done a full
backup of the SD card and system using Sprite Backup.

Since you have a full backup, you should do what Paul suggested and
try a hard reset. Test the keyboard(s) after the hard reset and before
restoring any of your data/apps.

If the hard-reset fixes it, then it's caused by something you loaded.
If the hard reset doesn't fix it, then it's a hardware or base-
software problem, and you'll need to contact O2.

Thanks Guys

A hardware problem it is then. I've contacted O2 and will get a replacement
handset under warranty

Cheers

Great news. Keep your data-card, and you should be able to load your
Sprite backup straight on to the new Stellar.

Good luck.
