Does anyone know where in the registry the associations for things
like.. clicking on a URL in a text message so that it automatically
launches Pocket IE are stored?

Mine is broken.. (since removing netfront).. if i click a link it
gives me an error saying it cant open the URL.. i have to first open
IE, then paste in the link..

Same thing with stored favorites.. cant click them and auto open.. it
just takes me to an explorer style window but with the PocketIE
symbol..

Thanks

Set HKCR/htmlfile/Shell/Open/Command/Default=iexplore.exe file:%1

That happened to me once too. I never set alternative browsers to be the
default any more. Once bitten, twice shy, as they say...

If you're under pre-WM6, import the registry file at
http://www.winmobiletech.com/sekalaiset/RevertOperaAssignments.reg

If you're under WM6, in addition to the above, you'll *also* need to import
http://www.winmobiletech.com/sekalaiset/WM6MSIEReg.reg

Also see my WM5 / WM6 & web browsing-related articles if interested (NOT
needed for doing the simpel Registry import - they just explain what these
reg files contain).
