For future reference, you can greatly reduce the risk of corrupting
Outlook's data, but backing it up first. And that is rather easy
because Outlook stores info for each account in a ".pst" file. By
default, it is outlook.pst in the user's settings directory. You may
need to shut down Outlook to gain access, but you can make a copy any
way you find convenient.
