    - WM6.1 Embedded Phone Numbers Hi, I'm running WM6.1 on an AT&T Tilt. My prior phone was a Blackberry 8800 that fell and isn't working. I installed the Blackberry Connect software on the Tilt. No problems, I had used it a few months ago. With the new custom ROM on the Tilt, the battery life seems much better but I have to wait for a work day to really see the difference. With the Blackberry, whenever it had 7, 10 or 11 numbers together, it would underline it so you can dial it assuming it was a phone number. WM6.1 does this with numbers in an email, but not in the subject line. I can copy the phone number from the subject line but can't paste it in the phone to dial it. Does someone know if there is third party software out there that can either paste a phone number, or, better yet recognize a phone number in an email subject? Thanks. Regards-Michael G.     - Refer to Mobile Device from XP Is there a way to refer to my WM6 device from a Windows XP batch file? I basically want to copy video files from my desktop to the storage card on my Smartphone.     - Accessing Network Shares/ Windows Mobile 6 -Wifi-HTC Touch- Possible Bug I improved the security on the Win XP box by disabling simple file sharing and turning off the guest account. The new share NTFS permissions does NOT have EVERYONE enabled, just a username. Someone has to log in with this username to be able to access the share remotely. The share works perfectly from another windows xp professional box and even a windows home edition box and even a ppc 2003 Dell axim. But now I cannot access the share from my HTC Windows mobile 6 device. I type in to Internet Explorer file://servername or use the FileExplorer open UNC and I can see all the shares. But as soon as I select one, I get ERROR: ACCESS DENIED. I tIhink I have found the problem. Using the security logs on XP Professional Box, I see that the Windows Mobile 6 is trying to login remotely using an account (username, password) that I deleted long ago. Apparently, Windows Mobile 6 will not give you the opportunity to change credentials if they are not accepted by the share. You just get 'Error- Access Denied' and that's that.     - Text messages won't delete. Hi, My text message inbox is pretty darn full (over 2500 texts) but when I try to delete them, they reappear after a restart. I've tried two methods; manually deleting every single message and using 'Menu > Tools > Clear text messages'. Is there anything else I can try? HTC Wizards and WM5.     - Automatic shutdown behaviour? What behaviour is to be expected from my iPAQ 2210 (WM 2003) when its battery reaches the critical (10%) level causing it to shut down please? While running Memory-Map its battery unfortunately reached that level after only about 3 hours into a walk I was recording (via a Bluetooth GPS receiver). On restarting it later in its recharging cradle, I assumed I would still have the GPS track up to that point, but no.     - Location Finder on HTC Touch cellphone (WM6) Hi - Recently purchased the HTC Touch, i used to have a Nokia N series prior (which i gave to my father), I live in India and travel a lot by trains for my job/ personal. ( not the local, but from city to city.. combination of cost and fear of flying ...) anyways, one of the features on the Nokia used to be the cell tower information that can be displayed on the phone and each time as i cross to a different area, i get the location on my cellphone and doze of to sleep saying to myself, ok another 4 hrs to go. But for the life of me, although HTC Touch is such a cool looking smartphone, this one feature is not there. I have tried various apps like Mobiletracker, Tinygps, googlemaps (my location), but gives no inclination on the same and does not provide the information atleast something that can be displayed on the "Today" screen . no major issue, but would be pretty cool if it could be done on the HTC Touch, lemme know, if any of you folks have any similar apps for Windows Mobile 5 or 6 applications that can be integrated to this.     - problems sending mail Hi all, I have 2 ppcs that have problems. the first is a hp4150. Problem with this one is that I can send and receive mail but when I try to create a new a/c an try to send an e-mail a message comes up saying 'system administrator (this message is on the FROM line) - invalid message recipients' (on the subject line) The following recipients are invalid......then has the e-mail address I was trying to send to (in the text area). This ppc has an old version of skype installed that I use and hope isn't the cause as I don't think the newer versions of skype will work on this model. The other software I have installed that may be causing the problem is Navman software but I use frequently. The other ppc is a hp4700 the problem with this one is that I can't send any emails at all (receiving is ok). Thought it may have been my router so went to a mates home and tested it there but the same problems occur. Does anyone have any ideas as to the problem. I know the hp4700 has worked in the past because it used to belong a friend who sold to it to me when he upgraded. The only thing I've added is tom tom. The 2nd problem with the hp4700 is that I can't install 'skype' on it. Message says something like 'not a windows or Microsoft application.' What really weird is that when my friend owned it he had skype installed and it worked fine. Tried to locate an old version of skype to see if it would make any difference but all the versions I've seen are current. I'd really appreciate some help if anyone knows what the problems could be.     - Contacts deleted, can they be recovered? Hi folks, We have come across a problem and need some help. What happened is the one of our user's old Windows Mobile phone (HTC 8525) was setup to sync Mail, Calendar and Tasks with Exchange but to sync his Contacts with Outlook on his PC (don't ask, I don't recall why this was done). He switched phones some time ago but we realized he still needed the contacts from his phone. To ensure there were no issues with his current Outlook contacts, we setup AS and an Outlook profile on a new machine. We connected the phone and were prompted to setup a relationship. We accepted the default sync settings as noted above and started a sync. Everything appeared to be going well then for an unknown reason, Outlook and then the whole computer hung. After we rebooted and disconnected the phone, we discovered all but two of the contacts have been wiped from from the phone. None of the contacts are in Outlook either. There is no SIM in this phone as it's not active so I am certain the contacts weren't saved there. Is there ANY way to recover the missing contacts? Of course, as with any issue that occurs, it's with the one person you don't want to have problems with ... it's our CEO's old phone and there was no backup! TIA for any help or suggestions.     - Help! ActiveSync "Attention required" when not admin Hi, I have recently taken my account out of the administrators group (now a requirement from my employer). ActiveSync no longer resolves anything and shows"Attention required" on categories. If I am administrator, it works fine. Otherwise it doesn't doesn't sync anything, and there is no indication of what is the problem.. This PPC has Pocket PC 2003 and the computer has Office 2003. I have tried: Reboot PC and PPC. Restore partnership. Reinstall ActiveSync. Reinstall Office. Checked for "no access" messages with Sysinternals Process Monitor. (There are none) And quite a few other folklore recipies from the Internet. Is there any way to find out exactly what is causing this message and failure to sync? I am stuck.     - Active Sync 4.5, WM6, Outlook 2003: Not Displaying All Outlook I have a Dell Inspiron 600m laptop with Office 2003, Active Sync 4.5 and an AT&T/Cingular 8525 running Windows Mobile 6.0. We are using Direct Push for email syncing with an Exchange/Windows 2003 Server. There is a subfolder to my Inbox that will not display for synchronization when I open Active Sync (in the computer while my Pocket PC is plugged in and synchronized) and click: Tools > Options, select: E-mail under Microsoft Exchange > Settings > Select Folders. When I try to add a folder (directly under the Inbox) on the PC, exit Active Sync 4.5 and open again, go back to Select Folders -- no new folders will appear in the list to choose for synching. I am not syncing all of the subfolders, only some of them. But I need to sync this one folder. I'm concerned because no new folders will display in the list. There are quite a few folders and subfolders, way over 50. Is there some kind of limit to the number of folders that Active Sync will look at?     - POP Hotmail I'm trying to set up my Hotmail account in my Pocket PC iPAQ HP 6515. I can receive all emails but when I reply or create a new email, I get an error saying my settings are not correct or I have no signal. I also have another POP email account (from my server provider Bluewin) in there and it works just fine. I think the problem is in the port settings: I cannot find where to set them, even if I've heard port 25 for outgoing mail might be blocked to avoid spam. By the way, I'm also using Outlook Express with my PC and I can perfectly use Hotmail as a POP account as well as in the OE interface. I am a Hotmail Plus subscriber.     - HTC Touch Dual - Blank Email query Hi all, Iâ??ve come across a user with an odd random problem with their emails. They have found from time to time that : 1. Either an email they receive is blank (except the title and who itâ??s from) 2. The email they receive appears and then disappears right before there eyes. Has anyone come across this before ? I called HTC technical support and they advised me to hard reset the device, but that to me feels like a hammer to crack a nut scenario. I asked them too if they had come across this fault before and they hadnâ??t, so there is no guarantee that it would work any way. The device is set to download the whole of the email. One other point, in Outlook (on his pc), the email appears fine, and the emails sync via GPRS.     - HTC Touch Cruise: Outlook/MMS/SMS won't start! Hi, I just got a HTC Touch Cruise a couple of months ago and everything was working fine until one day My messaging client stopped working. It simply wouldn't respond to any of the shortcuts I had pointing to it. That means outlook/mms/sms functions seized to work. I performed a "Clear Storage" via Windows Mobile 6 and it fixed it but I had to reset everything... A week later the same thing happened and the only way to get it to work was yet another reset.     - Problems with ActiveSync Hello, I had installed ActiveSync 4.0. I didn't use for a long time - today I tried to install new PocketPC program - I started ActiveSync - it crushed. I tried to installed new version 4.5 - I am getting a message: "The wizard was interrupted before Microsofr ActivesYNC 4.5 could be completly installed. Please run setup again". When I run wizard again - I am getting the same message. So I decided first to uninstall existing version - uninstall failed. I used uninstall utilility Advanced Uninstall - now according to Advanced Uninstall ActiveSync is not installed, according to Control Panel - it is, although when I click on it - I don't see option Remove.     - Clock settings? I've got myself a bit muddled over my iPAQ 2210 (OS = WM 2003) clock settings. I'm in UK. Clock is set to 'GMT: London, Dublin'. Time right now is about 17:15, Summer Time, i.e GMT + 1. The Today screen is showing 17:15. So it seems all is well, given that I recall the PPC takes care of Summer Time (DST). But I can't make sense of the GPS times recorded during a walk I just made. I used Memory-Map on the PPC linked by Bluetooth to my QStarz GPS receiver. The walk started after a pub lunch at 12:50 local time. But in the GPX file I've just downloaded from the PPC, the first entry is 09:50. I would expect it to be showing GMT, i.e. 11:50. So what can account for that 2 hour difference? If it's relevant, I did have the clock set to GMT+2 in the 'Visiting' section for a holiday in Italy, but I switched back to 'Home' on my return last weekend.     - Dell Axim X51v suddenly stops syncing with Vista laptop Well after a long spell of essentially excellent syncing performance (ever since I got Vista on the previous and now current laptop), my Ax has decided to stop syncing with the laptop. Today when I got home I put the Ax in the cradle connected to the still sleeping laptop, as I do every afternoon. when I woke the laptop it started to sync with the Ax as normal and eventually I noticed the little red "X" on the icon in the Task Tray. I checked the Sync Center and that said the Ax was disconnected. Strange I thought so I took it out of the cradle and put it back, bit not before noticing that all my appointments and contacts and other data was wiped from my Pocket Informant.I also started noticing that ActiveSync would not load at Startup on the Ax any more. I figured next sync it would get all that information from Outlook again so no harm no foul. Well a couple hours later I still have an Ax that will not be seen by the laptop -- even just to explore. I do notice that the WMDC Sync Host is not loaded. I uninstalled WMDC and reinstalled, rebooted the PC and even restored it to 4 days back when I had successful syncs (even up to yesterday). No joy, and also no WMDC Sync Host, which I suspect is the root cause. I deleted the partnerships on the Ax as well in order to force WMDC to initiate setting up of a new partnership -- it never asked! I tried moving the USB cable to another USB port -- no joy. I know it is hard to diagnose at arm's length, but I am wondering if I am missing something obvious. Also, does anyone know how to load WMDC Sync Host?     - Calendar does not sync all reminders Help.. I have an Ipaq 2515 running Pocket PC 2002 with outlook 2002. I'm also running active sync 4.50 on a windows 2000 pro box. I have the device set to sync with the pc. My problem is when I put a calendar item that is a reoccurring one it always pots up on the ipaq. If I put a onetime date for the item to popup on the date it never shows on the ipaq. The only thing that shows are the reoccurring reminders.     - Tasks Today addin shows 1 overdue item when there is none Recently performed a hard reset on my Dopod D810 and restored data from my Outlook 2003 via ActiveSync 4.5 without problem, except for Tasks shown on Today's screen - there is an overdue item. Opening Tasks to find out what has been overdue, but there is no such entry. Try resync with Microsoft Outlook many times but still can't get rid of it (and there is no error message on ActiveSync) Is there a way to reset the "counter"? I sent an Outlook e-mail to One Note and when I synched my Tilt with the
laptop via WMDC 6.1,
it didn't show up on my phone. How do you synch/send One Note notes to One
Note Mobile?

For one thing you need to enable OneNote Syncing in WMDC the same way you
enable contacts, calendar, etc. Then OneNote sets up a special notebook just
for syncing with that particular device, it doesn't sync the whole thing.
You will see it down the left side, OneNote Mobile, and there will be a
section for this device. If you have multiple devices there will be multiple
sections. What gets sync'd is a bit limited as well.
