When I write a message on my Mobile 6 equipped phone, I can not view it on
the PC - this was not a problem with older version...

Even new notes - anything drawn - will not show up when viewed on the PC - I
just see an empty note...

Help - what gives? Do I have to update to Office 2007 to see ink ???

I'm flying blind here since I don't have a WM6 device nor know what
default apps are now included or their capabilities and limits.

Can you clue me in on what WM6 apps have "drawing" and how it is
"toggled" i.e. the older pocket word had "view" menu items that included
"handwriting, drawing, typing..." and the notes app and notes fields in
the pim apps had a "pencil" icon at the bottom of the screen.

If it is a .doc or .pwi file please create two _small_ files containing
only three or four handwritten words and upload those to the
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.pocketpc.binaries section.

Finally, try http://BevHoward.com/ASync.htm#Forms and see if the ink
shows up in outlook notes.

...but, even if that works, would appreciate your helping educate me
with answers to the above and sample files.

Thanks,

the "app" is the notes in Outlook - I can jot a quick note using my stylus,
and used to be able to see it later when I opened the note in Outlook on my
PC. I can even see notes that were written on my old phone, but any new notes
show up blank on the PC.

The info is there, as the note continues to get synchronized and can be seen
on the phone no problem...

I have no idea how to upload files to the binaries section. I can email or
send using ftp - if you have an address you would like me to send to.

Did you try the http://BevHoward.com/ASync.htm#Forms tip?

the "app" is the notes in Outlook

Create a new note... then move that note to the memory card. It should
be a file with the extension .pwi and you can then email that file or
copy it to your pc using a card reader without it being converted to
outlook data.

To email it to me, go to my webside at http://BevHoward.com and use one
of the mail links to Bev (not Rebecca) and that will be the easiest way
to get it to me.

I have ATT Tilt (WM6 Pro). I created a handwritten note on the phone
last night, and it synched to my enterprise version of outlook 2007
this morning with the "ink" visible.

I logged into another machine with outlook 2002, and the ink showed up
there also. I did get a message across the top of Outlook 2002, to
checkout NotesCE, whatever that might be.

Good Luck

I have finally had a chance to look at a WM6 device...

...seems that "inking" is there, but "recognition" has been eliminated...

...had an interesting conversation about this last week... send ms your
thoughts if you want notes handwriting back... post here.
