Cool idea, keep up the good work! Keep us posted, and I may even include it
in the MIDlet Bible!

cheers for that, is there a j2me to .net cf compilier in the pipeline
at microsoft? i have not run any benchmarks, and so wonder what the
effective speed of the MIDlet Manager in wm6 beta for o2 htc universal
is.

it's just that the j2me development tools seem easier to obtain from
netbeans, than any suitable tools from MS. As my current strategy is
to scale all my work onto a pocket pc so i can go full solar without
donating an arm and a leg, a development language which runs on the
device itself is most essential. the options were few, c# has a
compilier, but the ide part does not do the vga screen only qvga.
forth had no compilier but now thats fixed ;-). i undestand a version
of prolog is available, but only a demo version. and no one has made a
java bytecode compilier with preverify yet. there is a basic but again
this is a shareware demo, and i tend not to like the install via
desktop route. as i said i intend to go solar, and only have enough
battery capacity for 6 hrs of desktop use, when this would give over
600hrs of ppc use. as you can see this is a definite plus, and a small
keyboard is only a minor minus.

well i do hope to develop more and also to make the sources easier to
download.

cheers

1. Haven't heard of any cross-compiler.

2. current, high-end KVM's, particularly Jbed, are VERY fast - a lot of
stuff (even games!) runs as quick as a native WM app - see my MIDlet game
reviews to see which (mostly 3D racing) games are worth trying out to see
what they're capable of.
