Hi - when I've had a user inherit a prior user's WM device, or have changed
a company over to a new server, I've never been able to figure out how to
wipe out the previous Exchange ActiveSync settings on the handheld.

No, I'm not talking about remote wipe....

I've always ended up doing a hard reset on the device, but that seems
draconian and possibly unnecessary. Is there a simple way (on the handheld
itself) to entirely wipe out the Activesync server settings, to get it back
to the vanilla default? I mean, the screen where I can launch the wizard and
add an Exchange server. I feel like I must be missing something obvious. It
wouldn't be the first time.

Any help appreciated....thanks.

Once you edit the Server Settings (with the new users login credentials and
server address) on the EAS from the Windows Mobile device it should wipe and
recreate the users mailbox on the device. No need to hard reset the device.

Thanks...I *think* I tried this, but I was unable to edit the domain field
for the user login (which mattered in the last case, as they were moving to
an entirely new network). Any ideas there?

Hmm, I do see your point with Domain setting greyed out. If you go back to
EAS Main screen then select Menu-Options in the lower right go to Menu again
and select Delete this should Delete the sync relationship with the device
and Exchange and allow you to create a new one.

Yes, but the pickle one is left in there, is that it doesn't remove the
previously synced information from the device.

In fact, I'm fairly certain the same thing happens when you merely edit the
*server* settings as well - this is all an invitation to dupes during the
next sync, which I hate recovering from & try to avoid at all costs.

Interesting. Why don't you pose the question in the exchangemvps? Let me
know if someone has a cure for this.
