While your Cruise is connected, go into
File->Connection Settings->This Computer is Connected To
in the ActiveSync box on your "desktop" (other end of ActiveSync).
Make sure it specifies "The Internet".

Then maybe you should have titled your post Windows Mobile Device Center, or
something even more descriptive, like Can't get to internet when connected
to PC.

So if you aren't using WMDC then you don't get anything but device
exploration. If you are, the settings are in Mobile Device Settings > More >
Connection Settings, if you are connected. Just Mobile Device Settings >
Connection Settings if not. There are two settings there that may need
adjusting, a dropdown with Automatic, Work Network, Internet...and a check
box, Allow data connections when connected to PC. That second one is
designed to keep you from hooking a wireless device (your phone) to your
network through your PC. The security guys dislike that sort of thing.

That's where the settings are. I haven't had much luck getting it to work
with any particular combination.

Sounds like the right screen. The other options I listed are below that. I'm
running AS4.5. Yours earlier? Maybe they added that, or it was somewhere
else earlier.

Sven i found my solution to the not able to surf the web on my pda with a
usb sync cable with windows mobile device center.
You did not tell me that i had to install Windows Device Center V6.1 from
the Microsoft download site.
After i downloaded windows device center 6.1 i got the menu options you told
me to choose.
Well anyway you still helped me in a different way and with a little help
from google did the trick!
THANK YOU!!!
