We need to upgrade our 4.2 Platform Builder to 5.0, but I'll be darned if I
can find it searching the Microsoft web site. We tried asking Arrow but
they say there are 100 different versions!

1. Can anybody direct me to the correct MS web site page and/or a part
number to use when ordering the 5.0 upgrade from Arrow?

2. Is there a cheaper upgrade from 4.2 to 5.0, rather than buying a virgin
copy of 5.0?

3. Is the eMbedded Visual C++ product still available for CE 5.0? We very
much need the native compiler for our project, rather than the Studio stuff.

Thanks,
Michael Schwab

1. Contact the Microsoft distributor from whom you purchased 4.2. Microsoft
doesn't sell PB to small consumers.

3. Yes, you can still use eVC 4 with CE5 OS. However, VS2005 also provides
native C/C++ support for CE5.

1. I should say, doesn't sell PB to small consumers *directly*. You have to
buy your upgrade from a distributor (they're listed on the
www.microsoft.com/embedded page).
