    - MI5 Persecution: Goldfish and Piranha 29/9/95 (5613) I just thought I'd let you know what I've been reading into the "Crusader" spam. I don't want to post this to usenet because somebody might try to tie that in to my posts in some way (someone already has, in uk.misc). First of all, I'd like to ask you to believe that my phone line in my apartment is bugged, and has been for many months. I have moved a couple of times this year, but "they" have faithfully been on my trail. Anyway, let's suppose my phone line is bugged. Now, when I talk to my internet service provider, it's over a SLIP (now PPP) connection. So if you wanted to bug what was said, either you'd listen in over the line and have to decode the transmission, or you could go to the service provider (more difficult) and ask them to decode a particular user's connection. OK, so now they're listening to everything I do over my SLIP/PPP connection. A couple of months ago I was messing around with faking articles through nntp servers and through anonymous remailers. I chose a nice inconspicuous newsgroup for my little tests, something no-one would ever notice. Guess which newsgroup I chose??? Yes, _FISH_!!! or rec.aquaria to be precise And guess what articles I tried to post? Goldfish, Koi carp and, you'll never guess... PIRANHA!!! The goldfish article and the Koi went through, but the piranha didn';t appear. by now you probably think this is too silly for words. But if you look in the papers a few eeks ago you will find John Major, Tonny Blair and Paddy Ashdown sharing a "private joke" about Major's sunburnt goldfish. We haven't had anything about Koi yet (they must be too dull ). Now, sent by someone who clearly knew what they were doing (they chose an Italian backbone site for their launch point) we have many thousands of messages to people all over the globe. All about piranha, and with the punchline "that gives you something to think about, doesn't it?" The way it works is that they're trying to kill two birds with one stone again. I'll just enumerate one or two things that I can still remember. Sometime around August/Sept 1992 I was living in a house in Oxford, and coming out of the house was physically attacked by someone - not punched, just grabbed by the coat, with some verbals thrown in for good measure. That was something the people at work shouldn't have known about... but soon after a couple of people were talking right in front of me about, "yeah, I heard he was attacked". Again, one I went for a walk in some woods outside Oxford. The next day, at work, someone said "you know he went to the forest yesterday". I don't want to put details on usenet of what happened because to do so would be to risk it happening again. If you put ideas in peoples' heads then you can find them reflecting back at you, and I don't want that. Also I can't remember that much from three years ago. That obvious contradiction within their propaganda is something they blithely ignore. :So, the Security Services never *actually* appear, and you assume that :they get someone else to do your dirty work. This is a bit of a big :logical step, here: That person doesn't like me, or is causing me trouble, :it's not because they've got problems themselves, it must be the "Security :Services". Yes. Because people are infallible. Or is there more? A single source is indicated because of the range of harassment. BBC + Capital + manipulated_public_at_large + set_up_situations, what does that add up to? Add in the technology to carry out the covert spying and the manpower and knowhow to follow you around for five years without being spotted. It smells very much of the security services, because there is no other organization (to my knowledge) which does the things I've seen these people do. Remember, they have deliberately chosen the softest of soft targets to victimize. They purposely chose a mentally ill person who they thought would be likely to kill himself anyway, so that they could get away with murder. And in all likelihood it will have started as a personal vendetta by someone. Who could that be? I don't know, but I can give you some clues. The first possibility (deep breath) is that someone from my college set me up. Six years ago I graduated from university in the UK, during the last year there I was steadily getting more and more ill. I know that I was talking in my sleep; although I don't know what I was saying, it got me a reputation, and if someone from my college talked afterwards to the "wrong" people then that could be the reason for all that has followed. I think that's the strongest contender for source. Directly beneath my room lived another bloke who frequently had his friends round late at night, after the time that I went to sleep. So they could have heard what I was saying in my sleep, and that could have got me the reputation for "talking to myself". What I don't know is why that should have rebounded a year after I left. You'd think it would have happened sooner; it's a bit odd to wait for a year and then start abuse. In England the all-time No. 1 is "nutter". Easter this year, returning home from Clapham police station to report five years of harassment ("we're not saying it's happening and we're not saying it isn't happening"), another "not happening" incident of harassment when a cowardly little slut did her country proud by yelling "nutter, nutter, nutter" in the face of the hated enemy. What can you do about that? You can't yell abuse back in their face, because they know they're supported by their peers, by the media, by the murderers in the security forces. You can't put them down when the fascist establishment is on their side. In January everyone's calling you X, then a few weeks later people stop calling you X and start calling you Y. The reason I think it might be the former is that I got quite a lot of abuse along the lines of "sound-alike" or "double-entendre" at work, in particularly from Steve. So "double" inevitably came to mean split-personality, "two people in one"; "back" inevitably came to mean "backside", "come" inevitably meant you-know- what, "split" (well, we'd better split now) again you can guess, "bent" (of a similar bent), the list goes on forever. These aren't "nice" double- entendres intended for comedy, they're nasty words to humiliate and cause pain. If I could turn the clock back three years then I would sue my former employers for harassment and I would almost certainly win. I had to take pills after a year of Oxford, so they wouldn't be able to lie their way out of it. I put the following at the end of a post in another thread just to see if he was reading any other threads in uk.media. There was this miniature camera which was designed to fit behind the infrared receiver lens of the remote control system (just beside the IR sensor itself) the camera clocked out the data in 256 lines of 256 pixels from a Fairchild chip and fed it out, a line at a time, into the VBI within the TV set itself.     - open bank and other optimizations Hi, I want to take adventage of the open bank and open row policy available in the processor (it can keep 4 banks open per bank, for a total of 12 banks at a time) that I am using (AU1xxx), by locating code, data, etc. on separete SDRAM bank and row boundaries. The processor's documentation says that it can be done using the linker, to indicate aligment of the various sections. The PB and VS compiler allows to do that with: #pragma comment(linker, "/SECTION:name, ALIGN=#") My problem is, I do no understand how all this fit together. For example, how can I use this technique to align network buffers or program code on an SDRAM bank boundary (i.e. a 128 MB SDRAM with 32 MB bank size and 4 KB row size)? Thanks a lot for your help.     - Kernel Profiler - Required Compiler / Linker Switches? Hi all, I've got a driver I'm needing to profile that for various reasons gets built via gmake on the command line in a tree completely outside of the normal CE build process. This isn't an issue, but I'm trying to profile the driver and think I'm missing something as all the profiler hits inside the driver are getting registered as : <UNACCOUNTED FOR> Checking the documentation for the kernel profiler, normally in CE land you include profiling info in a driver via : 1) set IMGPROFILER=1 2) set WINCEMAP=1 So I'm running a debug build and have checked that I'm generating map files by specifying : -map:drivername.map -mapinfo:lines I also manually copied the drivers dll and test harness .exe as well as associated files to the release directory just in case : driver.dll driver.map driver.pdb driver.rel driver.dll driver.dll drivertest.ex2 drivertest.map drivertest.pdb However this didn't help so I'm leaning towards thinking that I've somehow missed a compiler or linker flag thats needed. I can remember individual incidents, words which were repeated by different people at different times in different locations. Around the end of 1992 Private Eye rtan a front-cover with John and Norma Major, with the title "Major's support lowest ever" and John saying to Norma "Come back norma" on the front cover. What can you read in to that? Not a lot, seems like standard fare for PE. The first time I saw it I was in the pub with some people from work. One was expressing doubts to the other (let's call the first one Simon, shall we? and the second one Phil?) about whether what was going on was right. Phil's answer was that if Private Eye was doing it then it must be ok, "they're usually right". A few days later, again near work, there were some students laughing in the street, "Were you COMING BACK later? But I thought you said you were COMING BACK ha ha ha?" Play on words, you see. A couple of years ago I had to go into the station after a motoring infraction, the guy I spoke to then said something about "brain like a computer sir" which my suspicions latched on to - (I'm alleged to be a programmer as some people reading this know) - but as per the usual "can';t prove nuthin" and you ask yourself if you're just being stupid suspecting on the basis of a straw > 2.     - default.fdf file is restored after readRegistryFormOem calls I implemented Read/WriteRegistryToOEM functions on my target (CEPC) and everything worked fine for a while. Since some days, my registry is not more persistent and I dont know why. My readRegistryFromEOM function is called, data seems to be valid (I verified with a checksum computed in both read/write functions), but registry is not updated. I excluded default.fdf file from my image and now, registry is well updated at boot. My conclusions are : 1. my Read/WriteRegistryToOEM functions implementation is OK. 2. for an unknown reason, the system, after having updated registry with readRegistryFromEOM calls, is restoring default registry.     - A issue about KITL Hi everyone, I need your help! Now I met a problem when I use USB KITL. I can use USB KITL to download the image, but when the system starts. There is just one message in the PB output window: "Sp=ffffc7cc". Then I can get a debug message from serial debug port:"RndisMini rcv REMOTE_NDIS_RESET_MSG from host!". When I use USB protocol analyzer debug the USB BUS, I found the device send the data packet including debug message "Sp=ffffc7cc" to host, but the host didn't response to this packet. Then when 2 seconds past, the device restransmit it and timeout. After that HOST send REMOTE_NDIS_RESET_MSG to device and the connection failed.     - BUG: Windows CE 5.0 Update 070430_2007M04 April 2007 QFE I have just spent the best part of three days working out why my platform rebuilt from source control has stopped working. The answer is that the Microsoft PB 5.0 QFE for April 2007 has updated the source files for the default bus driver (defbus.h, defbus.cpp) but has *NOT* provided an update for the precompiled library files (defbuslib.lib, defbuslib.pdb) as is normal practice. Therefore, when you recompile a BSP where the code includes "defbus.h" and links to "defbuslib.lib" you have a mismatch between the library implementation of class DeviceFolder, and what your compiled code assumes!!!! As the class now has a new member variable, this breaks the implementation of the functions that are fully defined in the header file. The problem manifested itself by: sometimes causing memory violation exceptions, and, when no exception, not fully loading all of the detected devices on a bus (mine is PCI bus). The reason being is that the linked list of device folder is broken. WORKAROUNDS: 1. In Platformbuilder, open a workspace and navigate to PUBLIC\COMMON \OAK\DRIVERS\BUSENUM in the FileView tab. Right click and select "Build current project". Do this for both DEBUG and RETAIL builds, and repeat for all of the processors you need to support. Now SYSGEN your platform, specifying "clean before build". -or- 2. Clone the code in PUBLIC\COMMON\OAK\DRIVERS\BUSENUM\BUSDEF into your BSP using SysgenCapture (search the help for how to do this). All the 3D Test work using 3D reference driver (-ref parameter) with WinCE 5.0 but not with 6.0, the problem reported is always "unable to create D3DM device" There is someone that have an idea ??     - need help trying to integrate IPSM Hi all, I'm trying to include Intel PSM in our system, but with no success. There are many things that I don't know, or don't understand. We work with windows CE 6.0, PXA270, MAINSTONEIII bsp, P30 single 64MB flash. We have IPSM version 4.0. We work with MCPII_MODULE. The reason we are using PSM is because we want to be able to save some small text files in flash memory. No more than that. I worked according to the instructions in the Porting Guide of the PSM. I calculated the flash starting address according to the table in oemaddrtab_cfg.inc. In the table it is 0x9AA00000, but this is cached. In ifm_sys.c I need to put an uncached address, therefore it is 0xBAA00000. (As far as I understand the gap between them - 0x20000000- is set by DUAL_MAP_OFFSET). But in what situations do I have to change this value? I didn't specify a full map of the flash, only what I need. I only have one SA (Sub-Array), which I located in the address 59MB after flash start, and gave it a size of 4MB(1MB is left for safety). This way I don't touch the boot and the image code. For our needs 4 MB is much more than enough. I don't know whether it's ok to do it like that. In the file psmfsd.reg In the section which is "no root no hive" I erased all extras, and now there is only "PSM1", with volume name "IPSM1". In the other sections of that same .reg file I only changed the volume name to "IPSM1". I don't really understand what I have to write in the batch file- mainstoneiii.bat. Do I need to set ROOT, HIVE_REGISTRY or both? (as of now they're both set). What I want is that when the system comes up, I'll be able to see the directory "IPSM1". I don't really care whether it's inside "My Device", or anywhere else, I just want to be able to know where it is, be able to insert files inside it, write some text to these files, and the files be saved in flash. And what about checking some check-boxes in the catalog? Which ones need to be checked? As of now what I have checked is from Storage Devices\MSFlash Drivers\Intel StrataFlash NOR Driver , from File Systems and Data Store\File System-Internal\RAM and ROM File System, from File Systems and Data Store\Registry Storage\Hive-based Registry. Are these correct? Should I check some others? What happens now in my system is that there is no IPSM in it.     - Attach emulator to Visual studio 2005 Hello, I cant attach my emulator from Platf. Builder with Visaul studio 2005. I have followed all the steps of the topic http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms228708(vs.80).aspx but it still doesn't works. I launch the emulator with PB and I execute the ConmanClient2.exe and the MCaccept.exe and then I run Tools-> connect to device in the VS2005. but it fails ( after some time) and says "activesync is not instaled". I have configured the VS2005 Tools->Options->device with the IP of the emulator, I also have changed my PC IP address to be in the same network than the emulator ( I dont know if it's necessary).. but it doesn't work. I have also tried enabling and disabling KITL as I have read somewhere... I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The only thing I doubt is about the "target" combobox in the Platform builder, witch I have set to "CE device" ( if I set it to Windows CE 5.0 device when I try to attach it fails with: Warning: Debugger service map is set to none. What is the difference between these three USB Hosts? Any body having idea please differentiate clearly. If I want to test the USB Driver (Let suppose PEN Drive (usb Mass-storage device) by adding componets to the O.S design view. Which host I need to add to the o.s design. and at the same time for client driver: which componet I need to add to the o.s design. i.e I want to test usb driver by using the pen-driver by opening the pendrive and creating a files in that, or open a file in the pen-drive by using application program. I am not getting any icon or any indication in the desktop when I attatch a USB device(pen drive) to the usb port of the intel board.     - Display problem using ddi_hflat.dll I am using a board that uses SH7760 processor with onboard epson S1D13806 controller for graphics display. I am successful in bringing up the NK.bin by modifying the ddi.c in the OAL to initialize the epson controller. I am able to see the Wince startup screen with start button and taskbar on the LCD display. To verify the working of the hflat driver, a sample application was executed at the OS startup. I have a problem, the display is refreshing abnormally from top to bottom. The LCD resolution is 640 * 480, 8BPP, 60Hz frequency. I saw the previous post on similar issues, but those are not helping me. The same settings are working perfectly on Vxworks. One application will give me data at 8kHz which I will always need to upsample to 44.1kHz and pass onto the codec on a particular I2S pin. Another will supply 11.025kHz data which I again need to upsample to 44.1kHz and output always on a particular I2S pin. The third application will supply 44.1kHz data which I need to output on a third fixed I2S channel. I intend to support this by returning that my wavedev2 driver supports three output channels in response to the WODM_GETNUMDEVS message, then the application software can supply the correct device ID in calls to waveOutOpen. I have a couple of questions: 1) I understand that I can't use the swmixer because I have more than one output channel? So, I wanted to indicate that my driver can support 8kHz, 11.026kHz and 44.1kHz rates directly, then do the sample rate conversion inside my driver. However, it doesn't appear that I can indicate in a WAVEOUTCAPS that the driver can cope with 8kHz data - only 11.025, 22.05, or 44.1 looking at the defines in mmsystem.h Could I use the swmixer? I don't want it mixing any of the audio streams together, but maybe I could rely on it to do the upsampling? 2) Is there a better way of allowing application software which audio output channel to open when the driver supports several?     - *_NotInstalled.txt files after installing QFEs We (and our customers) are constantly having problems with QFEs not installing properly: Even when starting from a fresh PB 5.0 installaion and installing QFEs in the proper order, the '\WINCE500\Updates'-folder contains '*_NotInstalled.txt' files, that show that some files of some QFEs didn't get installed. At first we thought it was because the installation routine of such a QFE has found that the patches (or newer ones) to the respective files have already been installed, but we have seen cases where new files (for Net CF 2.0) should have been added, but just weren't installed at all. It seems to make a difference whether we install, e.g. the 2006 RollUp or the monthly 2006 QFEs (in order), whether 2004/2005-RollUps are installed or not, etc. Unfortunately the most obvious way of installation (PB5 -> RollUp2006 -> monthly 2007) does not necessarily result in the least '_NotInstalled'-files. The best result I was so far able to achieve is 'PB5 -> RollUp 2004 -> RollUp 2005 -> Monthly 2006 -> Monthly 2007' but even then 2007M01 and 2007M02 resulted in patches not getting installed (IP and WMT for 2007M01 and DirectX for 2007M02). What is going on here? This is really annoying, because each time one of our customers wants to use one of our BSPs it is a long-time trial-and-error phase until the customer has a QFE combination that works. This is my code for waiting for the event to be signalled... DWORD dwStatus =WaitForMultipleObjects(numberOfEvents, g_hGpioEvent, FALSE, INFINITE); >From this point it goes to schedule.c and the system hangs. But if there is only one event it is working as expected. What would be the cause of this issue??? Earlier I have checked the working of my service(IST) ,by simulating events using an application(not using real external interrupts from arm processor).Then it was working fine for all events... Hello everyone,
I am using x86 based board, having 82855gme controller(wince 6.0), I am
using Intel IGD display driver. I couldnt able to play video file using this
display driver. I tried with everything same but only changed display driver
to VGA Linear flatframebuffer, after changing it i could able to play the
video file. I dont have source code for IGD display(only having the dll), i
need to use only this display driver only since it has other supports. With
igd display if i try to play a file it opens windows media player and it
closed suddenly.

My question is Why i couldnt able to play the video file with igd driver?
And what can be done to overcome it.
