    - Loading USB driver @ boot We have a system with two partitions, the NK.bin and an internal filesystem on the same NOR flash device. We have the need to load USB drivers from the internal filesystem. The reason being, our NK.bin is not upgradable but the filesystem is. So we have some ideas: * We use the Loader/SystemPath registry variable to point to the filesystem. This doesn't seem to work even though we put this entry in the boot registry. * We copy the USB driver files to the \WINDOWS directory after boot. The problem here is that we have a race condition between the copy and the USB driver loading. * Let the USB driver fail loading the first time, then retry after we boot up and copy driver files to \windows (is there a function to reload a driver?)     - Watchdog PXA270 PB5.0 XSCALE PXA270 I'm trying to implement hw watchdog and from the documents, I have initialised match register and I'm resetting OCR0 register periodically. This works fine. But, when I allow watch dog reset to happen, my system hangs in bootloader itself. We are running a small RAM test even before eboot is copied to RAM from flash. The control is not even getting there after a watch dog reset ? From some posts I see that PXA270 watchdog requires HW modification ? Can you guys advise on how to solve the watch dog hang issue ?     - How to run GSPlayer on pocket PC Hi to all I download open source audio player (GSPlayer) from internet. i build it in visual studio by selecting "windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC sdk(ARMV4I)" Solution plateform and "release" as the solution configuration. It build successfully I try to connect to emulator and active sync it is connected successfully. But when i run to check its functionality it gives an error and stops. I check the out put directory it does not create any exe file rather only some .obj and .res files. I want to run it on device emulator to see its functionality. I created a new OSDesign project, with custom template, and did not checked anything offered (trying to keep the components at minimum). It builded okay. Than I've installed all x86 CE updates (up to april 08), and checked .NET Compact Framework 3.5 in the catalog list view items. Now the project doesn't want to build.     - Windows CE 6.0 IXP425 ethernet driver problems Hi! We're using the OSDN_RICHFIELD BSP for IXP4xx under WinCE 6.0. We're having problems with ethernet deadlocks when running a CF3.5 application which communicates over ethernet. Sometimes the application can run for several days without any problems and sometimes the ehternet interface becomes unavaliable after less than a day. When the ethernet interface has dealocked the other ethernet interface still works properly. If you try to disable the deadlocked interface the entire OS hangs. Any ideas? Is there any other ethernet driver avaliable for IXP4xx running WinCE6.0 than the driver from the OSDN_RICHFIELD BSP? Is there no Windows CE support from Intel for the IXP4xx platform?     - Problem with WinCE 5.0 Detection of US Robotics USB 5421 I currently purchase a US Robotics USB Adapter to integrate with my WinCE 5.0 platform, but unfortunately the device is not recognized. The power light does not come on indicating that the device is never detected. I have and external HUB connect to my unit with a USB mouse and keyboard connected. The other devices are working fine, but I can't get the wireless USB 5421 adapter to work. I have read the other posts about modifying the OHCD driver to delay the detection of the USB 5421, but I don't know where inside the OHCD driver to implement these changes. One post indicates that the device should be detected as a full speed device, but where do I implement these changes. I have an customized BSquare BSP for AU1100 MIPS processor for the OHCD driver. We have done few modifications in the USB Mass Storage Class driver to enhance the speed of USB transfers in Host mode. WinCE Kernel USB Class Driver fixes - 1. Changed Max Transfer size from 8KB to 32KB. Result - Number of SCSI commands was reduced. 2. Removal of SCSI Test Unit Ready(TUR) Command during Read/Write operation. Result - Time taken by TUR Command is reduced during Read/Write operation. 3. WinCE Scatter-Gather Buffer changed from 8 to 128 (SG_MAX_BUF) Result - Disk I/O Delay is reduced by increasing the number of buffers Changes in MS WinCE Kernel system Memory 1. Memory Type changed to RAMdisk Result - RAMdisk access times are faster than WinCE system memory We need know, 1.     - Serial Problem with USB I have the following problem with serial devices connected through USB. Situation: Windows CE 5.0 running on a PXA270. NET CF 2.0 (No SP) USB Devices connected through a USB HUB. 1 FTDI USB To Serial device. Other USB devices (Including serial devices, and Mass storage devices) Recognition of all the USB Devices work without problems. When i boot up with my FTDI Device attached, all works and i can open the serial port and communicate, But as soon as i attach an other Serial USB device the FTDI Serialport gives an error (I suspect the port gets closed). This only happens if i attach a Serial based device (A GPS Mouse, and Microsoft Wireless keyboard,mouse for example) the problem does not occur if i attach a Non Serial device like a Storage device. The problem also doesn't occur if i attach another FTDI Serial device. When i attach the Serial device and then bootup the device no problems occur aswell so the devices are all recognised, it's only the fact that if you attach the device after bootup, and when the other serialport has already been opened my problem occurs. For test purposes i removed all the drivers for the GPS Mouse in the registry, so whenever i attach the GPS Mouse it's not recognised as a valid device and displays the famous add driver dialog, but even then my serialport gives me an error although in theory i would think that nothing would happen. Could anyone shed some light on this issue. But if i try to access, i could see only empty folder and when i view the properties, "Used Space" and "Free Space" are shown as 0 bytes.     - Error 4309 returned when writing files Hello, We have a WinCE 5.0 Core system running on a 1 Ghz x86 platform. The hard disk drive is set up as a CF card. Our program previously ran on WinCE 4.x with no problems, but now we repeatedly get errors when writing to the disk drive. GetLastError() returns 4309 (resource required). I suspect there is some security issue. We have the NoDefaultUser registry setting set to 0 by default. The platform was started from an internet appliance base and we have omitted all items we dont use in order to adhere to the core licensing agreement. We have no use for any "user" security. I am defining additional platform specific IRQ values based off of the IRQ_BULVERDE_MAX value, but this paradigm is broken in CE 6.0 because the OALIntrStaticTranslate() routine (common lib, map.c) is comparing against the OAL_INTR_IRQ_MAXIMUM value which is defined as 64 for both versions. What this causes is the IRQ translation in CE 6.0 to be skipped because the compare fails, which in turn causes the SYSINTR to be mapped to the IRQ init value of -1 and then breaks IRQ dependent drivers. If (kill == hide) you can use Start->Settings->Taskbar and start menu
properties. If you want to run an application in full screen mode you can

Do you need the explorere.exe at all ?
You can remove the "launch50" registry setting to not start it.
You can even take it out of the image then, saving 250K.
If you need it later (support/debugging), have your app start it when an USB
stick is inserted with explorere.exe on it. (perhaps copy to windows folder
first)
