This may seem a strange question, but does anyone know whether there is
a driver available for the ipod on wince 4.2. If not, does anyone have
any idea what if any mods would need to be made to the usb system to
handle loading a windows formatted ipod up as a usb mass storage device?

If the ipod supports identifying itself as a USB mass storage device then CE
V4.2 already has support for that. You just need to make sure your device
has USB host support and the USB mass storage client drivers.

Are you *just* wanting to access it as a mass storage device, or are you
wanting to access music/videos on the device as well? The storage aspect
should "just work" to coin a phrase. Attempting to access stored media
will be unsupported at best but there are various descriptions available
online on how to access it if you're happy using a bit of a hack to
do it.

Bear in mind as well that USB2.0 was added in Windows CE 5.0 so your
drive access in 4.2 won't exactly be nippy...
