I just bought a used ViewSonic V210 that runs an xScale processor. I
downloaded a platform image from viewsonic and installed it to make
the unit like new (it was also missing a few things when I got it.)
Installing this image took the wireless connectivity from my V210.
I'm trying to figure out how to rebuild an image that has the wireless
support and that I can install on my unit. Can someone help me out
with building an image that will work on this device. Viewsonic's
support is worthless.

Unless you've got the schematics and BSP for this device you won't be
able to build a new image for it. Your best bet is viewsonics support...

Good luck,

Or forget the ViewSonic and use hardware from someone who *does* have good
support. We don't have anything with no keyboard and a large display, but
you could see what we sell at www.lanpoint.com. There are also many more
handheld devices from companies like www.compsee.com, www.symbol.com
(although their support sucks, too), www.intermec.com, etc.

If you are in the midst of trying to learn about Windows CE application
programming, you'd have been better off to buy a used Pocket PC device, as
far as getting something cheap (of course, there's an emulator, too, that
comes with the various Pocket PC SDKs and which is free).

If you're more-interested in building Windows CE operating system images for
devices, start with an old PC and use the CEPC tutorials in the Platform
Builder help. You can download an evaluation copy of Platform Builder 6.0
from Microsoft. That will last you 180 days before you have to buy Platform
Builder.
