You'll have to tell *us* what the problem is. Of course, there's no direct
connection between any program and a failure of the display buffer. You
might capture the serial debug output messages or run a DEBUG build of the
operating system with Platform Builder to see if there's a crash or
something.
It almost sounds like someone is rewriting the registers that control the
on-chip LCD controller, but you'll have to figure out who that would be.
