Someone there will be able to answer to this question ?

Why is impossible to install a custom x86 based SDK created using Platform
Builder 5.0 ?
The same error trying to install the STANDARD_SDK.msi coming on the CDROM in
the \eVC\SDK500 directory.

When I install (on different PCs too) I always get the following dialog box
:
'software development tools required to use this SDK for
developing applications are not installed on this dev station .....'

If yes, I will be there :-)

I'm very disappointed !
Many questions like the last time I joined these chats, one hour has passed
without useful answers.
One doesn't know WinCE (so why is there?), the other say "here is 9AM and no
many experts are in", the other GreatValuableSuperExpertMagnum say "call the
tech support 800-MICROSOFT".
Bah, I suggest you 'experts' to use a modern instrument called NewsGroups to
support your customers (like me).
And please when you read the questions remember that someone purchased your
products.
Best regards

1. Just because you see it as a high-priority bug, doesn't mean it is to
Microsoft or anyone else reading your posts
2. Posting in the newsgroups is *not* the same as opening a support case.
If you have a bug, contact support, like you would with *any other* vendor.
If it's a problem with their product, the case is free.
3. If you bought Platform Builder, you get 2 free support incidents anyway
4. The chat client has a "post feedback" link on it for the chat. Posting
the feedback there is far more likely to be constructive than whining about
it here.
5. You can't expect an expert for every possible topic to attend every chat.
In my experience, Microsoft has been very good about following up with
questions asked that no-one present had the knowledge to answer if two
criteria are met: 1. It must be relevant to the chat topic and 2. If it's
likely to end up in you needing to call support services (in which case they
will tell you outright to call support).

The feedback was received inline during the chat and Mike Fosmire noted it.
The difficulty that we don't realize about the contact support thing is that
he's not in the US (Italy, right, Shutruk?), and it's hard to find
information about where to call or even if Embedded can get support outside
North America from the Web site.

I'm pretty sure that the basic problem that prevents the install is fixed by
Windows Scripting Host 5.6...

I installed Windows Scripting Host 5.6, and the error is the same !

When I install (on different PCs too) I always get the following dialog box
: 'software development tools required to use this SDK for
developing applications are not installed on this dev station .....'

Ignoring the message, finally it fails and no SDK is installed and visible
from eVC.
The final error is : Windows Script Host "Windows Scripting Host
Initilization failed"

What can I do to install this SDK ?
Is this maybe a strategy to force Platform Builder customers to puchase
Visual Studio .NET ???

TIA

Not sure this may help, just some thoughts.

I have seen something like this. Can't remember the exact
error message, but it was a problem with installing SDK
on any PC in our office.... caused by antivirus software.
Make sure You disabled any "anti-" software.

Actually we are all using our custom SDKs generated in PB
and there are no problems with installing it. I think it has something
to do with another software installed on Your PC.

Btw are You able to install any different MSI package? may be
something is wrong with installer itself.
