    - No Debug messages while Using Atatic IP Hello all I am using Intel PXA27x board, which is having Mainstaone II platform. Here i am using this board to use it for winCE 6.0. As in WinCE 6.0 we have Mainstone III BSP, so in this BSP i just set one variable SDRAM_SIZE_64_MB=1 in mainstoneiii.bat file. And i am able to download the image to the board via DHCP configured eboot, and also able to debugg it. But when i disable the DHCP in the eboot menu and given the Static IP to that board, then i am not able to get any debug message in my output window of platform builder.and I'm not able to use any tool which uses Kitl and not able to debug the BSP code. I am getting this message in the hypertherminal after nk.bin was loaded into board Windows CE Kernel for ARM (Thumb Enabled) Built on Sep 6 2006 at 19:14:27 INFO:OALLogSetZones: dpCurSettings.ulZoneMask: 0xb DeviceId................. But no degug message in the outout window. i am getting only this message in degug window PB Debugger The Kernel Debugger is waiting to connect with target. I have tried all the possible way to check what's going worng with the Static IP. But i did'nt found any thing related to that. can anybody share the soultion for this problem.     - Initialized variables are not working when built using PB Hello Initialized variables are not working when built using Platform Builder for WinCE 5.0. Variables intialized at declaration for e.g. UINT32 test = 0x12345678; Variable "test" is initialized with value 0x12345678 is not working when compared with same value. When I saw the map file it is in initialized data section at say "x" address but when I saw after dumping is at "x+length of .pdata section". Can anybody help in this regard?     - QFE for Windows CE .NET 4.2 Hi, Is it possible for someone from Microsoft to organise the Knowledge Base (KB) of Windows CE .NET 4.2 known bugs and publish the new QFE to fix them. I found that many known bugs that have been written in KB in another languages are not fixed and pulished with QFE. Therefore it's very disorganize and troublesome to fix the bugs manually one by one. For example, the following Google keyword: Windows CE NET 4.2 kbbug -QFE -837392 site::support.microsoft.com returns those KB bugs that has not been fixed with QFE. Furthermore, some KBs are written in another languages which doesn't have any English translation.     - USB Activesync Autoconnect Dear All: I am using PXA270 based platform, and tried to connect USB activesync sutomatically to PC, but it is not connecting. Here what I have done: The interrupt is level triggered and it is working. On detection of "Cable attach" my USBFN driver call DeviceNotification(UFN_MSG_BUS_EVENTS, UFN_ATTACH); In my PC side USB device is recognized, I checked it via Device Manager. My only problem repllog doesn't get called. If I type "repllog.exe" from run window, its work, but I like to connect it automatically. Any help or suggestion will be a great help.     - disabling reverse DNS for the web server The Windows CE 5.0 web server documentation mentions the ability to disable reverse DNS: GetServerVariable (ISAPI Extensions) http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa450423.aspx "REMOTE_HOST The host name of the client or agent of the client (for example, gateway, proxy or firewall) that sent the request if reverse DNS is enabled. Otherwise, this value is set to the IP address specified by REMOTE_ADDR." Unfortunately this is the only place I can find any mention of even the possibility, let alone how to do so.     - Serial Communication Test Hi, I am running serial communication tests on Windows CE 5.0 device. While running the test as slave on port(COM2), it starts auto ras dialare and the test case is disturbing. Any idea why it is happening.     - Display Driver for CE 6.0 Hi, I'm sorry for posting this query in multiple groups. I'm trying to develop a DirectDraw Display driver for Windows CE 6.0. I started with building a simple GDI based display driver using the GPE class and have verified this driver functionality. I've also executed the GDI test CETK tests on this implementation. Now I'm trying to extend this driver to incorporate the DirectDraw features using the DDGPE Class and the implementing the DDHAL. The required functions are complete and is building correctly. To test I tried to use the DDEX1 sample application. I observed that this application fails to initialize the DirectDraw. On further probing I found that the function DDGPECreateSurface fails declaring the format to be un-supported. The GDI driver is using the gpe_24bpp format and the bit mask is as follows. R-Mask is 0x000000FF G-Mask is 0x0000FF00 B-Mask is 0x00FF0000 I found that the default bit-mask are different from the one being used in our driver and thus the DDGPECreateSurface is failing. Is this color format really an un-supported. Or is there something I'm missing out. Any suggestions would be of great help. Thanking you in advance. BD.     - USB mass storage issue We are facing some issue on the USB mass storage, let me explain the situation: My current setup is Target: ARM9 based Board. Os : WinCE 5.0. Host : Windows XP SP 2 Issue: 1) Target is configured as USB Device mass storage. 2) an SD card is plugged on the target. 3) On the PC, the SD card contents are visible. 4) When the card is replaced, the contents of the new one are not detected. The PC screen still shows the content of the previous card only. Currently as we understand: 1) The SDI driver is not communicating with USB driver for Card insertion & removal events. 2) Any event on the USB, the PDD notifies the MDD. But we see that only USB attach, detach & reset events being supported by the MDD (looking at the MDD sources). There isn't anything events for card insertion/removal. Is MS aware about this issue?     - Problem in USB downloading from Eboot. Hi, I am downloading Nb0. from Eboot through USB.In eboot i have support for downloading via USB. Using DNW i am downloading. For snippets I referred to USB downloader firmware in Samsung web site. The problem is i was not able to download complete Nb0. Either system(PC) restarts or after downloading completely it hangs...     - fail to build csp_pxa27x from another directory I have to port a new BSP on a PXA270. I have some modifications to do in public/csp_pxa27x directory. I have thus try to copy it in another location and make some modifications in sources.cmn and sources files in order to compile sources from there. My problem is that I define some variables in sources.cmn but they seem to be changed during the build process. Typically here is how is defined a variable in sources.cmn (several other variables have the same problem) : __PROJROOT=$(_TARGETPLATROOT)\src\$(WINCEPROJ) In order to better understand whats happening I have added some trace : in sources.cmn !MESSAGE sources.cmn __PROJROOT : $(__PROJROOT) in sources !MESSAGE sources __PROJROOT : $(__PROJROOT) I build the project and then in build.log I have the folowing trace : BUILD: [01:0000000014:INFO ] sources.cmn __PROJROOT : C: \WINCE500\platform\alpilles\src\csp_pxa27x BUILD: [01:0000000023:INFO ] sources __PROJROOT : C:\WINCE500\public \csp_pxa27x The first one has the expected value.     - WZCSVC cannot restore preferred network I'm working on WinCE 5.0. For some reason we cannot use hive-based registry to keep the preferred network list persistent. I restore the registry branches,[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Comm\EAPOL\Config] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WZCSVC] before wzcsvc.dll loads. When wzcsvc.dll start, it reports "** ZCF:: WARNING!!! Corrupted registry deleted. **", the preferred network list information is gone then. I've checked the restored registry value is the same as that when the network is associated with an AP.     - Keyboard lag ... on Windows CE 5.0 We see random problems with keyboard handling in our WinCE images. The keyboard handling is getting slower now and then. Slower means that the keyboard click and the processing of the key event by the application that owns the focus is happening about 2 seconds after the key has been pressed. This is true for standard and USB keyboards. It is also not related to our application; even WordPad does show that it receives the key down event quite a long time after the key has been pressed. We could not find a way to reproduce; it just starts to happen now and then? and is only going away after rebooting the OS. I think this is probably a problem in the OS/HID drivers, since our code does not produce the slowdown (but it might have triggered it).     - problem with display I have two problems with my display. I'm using a NEC display with the VR4171a companion chip 1) if the graphical shell starts up i see the background of windows CE 5.0 and some components like "my device" but i see also black vertical lines +- every 1 mm.     - Bug in signed-overflow of (unsigned) Tick-Counter ? When the system internal (unsigned DWORD) Tick-Counter (CurMSec) approaches a signed overflow, i.e. 0x80000000, the system starts behaving in strange ways, becomes almost unusable, etc. Sleeps started at a point in time before this signed-overflow that are going to end after such a signed-overflow seem to not work at all and instead seem to act like a Sleep(0). For example in a simple application: while (TRUE) { RETAILMSG(1, (TEXT("ping 0x%08x\r\n"), GetTickCount())); Sleep(0x7fffffff); } The Sleep() doesn't seem to work at all. In a system actually approaching a CurMSec count of 0x80000000 all Sleeps and other timeouts suddenly seem to go crazy. Applications, including the regular Windows Explorer, become allmost unusably slow, the performance of ethernet connections (like FTP) suddenly starts to drop considerably, etc. After CurMSec has passed 0x80000000 the system acts normally again. What is going on here? How can this be fixed? BTW.: This was tested on 4 different ARM platforms: 1. Sharp LH7A404 based Windows CE 5.0 2. Freescale iMX.31 based Windows CE 5.0 3. Intel PXA270 based Windows Mobile 5 PocketPC 4. Intel PXA270 based Windows .Net 4.2 PocketPC As our system will also be used for applications that run 24/7/365 this is pretty critical.     - NDISUIO Problem Upon Resume Hi everyone, I repost a new thread since I didn't get any response on my last one and that I found out more information about what happens in my case. Our CE5.0 mobile device uses a Wi-Fi sd card. The problem we are experiencing is that sometimes when we get back from a suspend the Wi-Fi card is reinitialized but the WZCTool is unable to reconnect on the prefrerred server. What I have found is that in the NDISUIO dll the function UIO_IOCONTROL function is called with IOCTL_NDISUIO_NATIVEWIFI_STATISTICS code. In the corresponding section, it cannot acquire a valid UioOpenContext. I am guessing it is a synchronizing issue with something or a bad pointer value because it doesn't occured everytimes. Sometimes it could happened almost on the first try and sometimes it may take hours to get the error. I would appreciate a lot if someone can help me with this.     - S.O.S Direct3D reference driver Hello everybody, We are trying to execute the D3D sample applications in our device. We have added the Direct3D Mobile Null Driver and Direct3D Mobile Reference Driver catalog items. We have modified the project.bib file so that the Reference Driver is loaded to the device and modified the registry setting so that the Reference Driver is considered to be the predefined one: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\d3dm\drivers] "LocalHook" = "d3dmref.dll" However when running a sample application we get the following error in the serial port: "Can not create D3D object" If we do not modify the registry settings and the project.bib file and add KITL to the image we see that the reference driver is loaded from the workstation and the sample applications work fine. But we would like to work without KITL, because we are trying to test real-time performance. Does someone know what we are missing here?     - capturing system.hv Is there a way to capture the system.hv file and copy it somewhere else ? I thought I could use RegReplaceKey(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, NULL, NULL, TEXT("\\PCFlash Storage\\old.hv")); but that doesn't seem to work. If just use RegReplaceKey(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, NULL, NULL, TEXT("old.hv")); I don't know if it works at all since I lose My Computer when the registry is closed. RegReplaceKey(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, NULL, NULL, NULL); Deletes system.hv. I'm trying to capture to system.hv files to debug a problem. Capturing the registry with the remote registry editor has not helped, but it appears to be registry related. I want to prove a few facts and this seems the best way if I can only get the file copied somewhere. System.hv isn't generated in the release directory is it ?     - selecting one of different driver implementations Hello! This is kind of a follow-up to an earlier problem, that I wanted to configure which COM port a touchscreen driver is looking at, preferably by selecting an entry in the catalog. For that, I created a CEC file which contains a component ("Touch Driver"). For this component, I used several different implementations who's only difference is a Variable(..) and the GUID. This seems to work at first, it displays the entries for the different serial ports which I can select from the catalog. However, when I select e.g. the one for COM1, it shows in my platform's settings that I added the one for COM4! It seems that no matter which one I select from the catalog it selects the last one. What can I do to fix this, so I have four independent entries without creating four independent CEC files? On a related note, what is the difference between "FeatureVariable" and "Variable" in the CEC file?     - How to share varible in a driver Hi I am writing a driver that allow application to scan barcode. However, there is a scan trigger button that should be handled by the driver instead of the application. What I mean is the application will not care about the scan trigger button. When the scan trigger button is pressed, my driver will response to it and then post the scan result to the application. I originally planned to do some trick at the keypad driver, however, i found out that the memory allocated by the application are not share among different application/driver. For example, my application allocated 3000 bytes at memory 0x1716432. When my driver call the same function, the pointer will pointed to 0x0. Seems that wince will create a new instance for different driver/ application. As my previous experience are Palm. I know I can do some bad trick to solve this problem.     - touchscreen/stylus problems Greetings! I'm trying to get a touchscreen to run, using a controller from Egalax (http://www.eeti.com.tw). Now, my question is how I would normally proceed? What I have done is to add everything from the catalog that has 'touch' or 'stylus' in it, i.e. "Touch Driver Test Application" (SYSGEN_TCHTEST) and "Touch Screen (Stylus)" (SYSGEN_TOUCH). In addition, I would need to select a driver which provides the adaption from the touch-framework to the hardware, right? This driver is supplied by the vendor, even in two versions, and I think I installed it correctly, but it still didn't work. What I was expecting was that at least in the system settings when running CE an entry 'stylus' would appear which then allows related settings and calibration, right? If this doesn't appear, indeed the driver is broken or not correctly installed. I also tried removing the mouse (SYSGEN_CURSOR), but that didn't help either. I was in fact surprised to see that I still had a mouse cursor on the screen and that I could move it with a USB-attached mouse. Did I mess up building the image or is that to be expected? I'm currently a bit stuck, as I don't know where to continue. The vendor's tools are also not of any help, they don't work for whatever reason but don't even supply an error message... Hi,
I am working with wince5.0 for smdk2440.
I provided support in Eboot for downloading Nk.nb0 through USB.
I was able to download OS completely through USB using DNW
But my OS didn't launch.
My Launch address is 0x32200000(80200000) and my OS image starts at
0x80200000.
I have a doubt whether any problem exists if my download address in
DNW is same
as launch address.
I couldn't trace out where the problem exists.
Give me some suggestions.
