So, you're asking a bunch of programmers for legal advice?! Publishing
*any* of the source code is generally a violation of the license agreement,
let alone the private source code. Microsoft might grant you a special
dispensation, if the value of the article seemed high to them, I suppose.
You'd have to contact them, however, to see what they would be willing to
allow and consult a real attorney.

You need to read the license agreement that comes with the source code.
Asking for legal advise from a bunch of techies in a public newsgroups isn't
a very reliable method of getting a correct answer.
