Hi,
I managed to het Platformbuilder to install & Build on Vista.

Your user must be administrator.
after installing - enable compatibility on the CEBP5.exe file as follow.
1) Start
2) Control Panel
3) Control Panel Home
4) Programs
5) Use an Older program with this version of windows
6) Next
7) I want to locate the program manually
8) next
9) locate C:\Program Files\Windows CE Platform Builder\5.00\CEPB\BIN\cepb.exe
10) select WinXE Service pack 2
11) next
12) Select the 3 "Disable ... " checkboxes
13) next
14) If available - select the "Run as Administrator"
15) next
16) next
17) "Tes, set this program....
18) next

WinCE should now build without problems

Ive found that this does not work on all Vista install.

You can try the following as well

create a new text file and call it cepb.bat

paste the following into the file :
@ehco -------------start here
start cepb.exe
exit
@ehco -----------end here-------

run the bat file and not the exe. this seems to work better.
