    - about usb bulk transfer problem.. Dear all, I've developed a usb host client driver for my modem device. In more detail, it is a usb cdc acm driver. My driver follows stream driver model and creates a COM port for modem use. Then, I write a http client application to test my driver. When getting small-size file (<100KByte), it can download successfully. If the application gets big-size file(>1000KByte), the driver runs for a while and stops.     - Adding Raster Font support in WINCE 4.2 Hi, I am adding the Raster Support for my WinCE 4.2 OS. I added the Raster Font Support in my OS module and built it. But, I am not able to remove the Tahoma (Default system font) module. When i load the OS in my Target, it is crashing at GWES load. One more point i read in help that I can't use both Raster and TTF in the same OS image. But, to make my OS image for Raster ONLY support i tried to remove the Tahoma, but couldn't ftom the image. Why ? "Tahoma is taken as default font and couldn't remove" was the message i got. I couldn't get any help related to "How to add Raster support in WInCE 4.2 ?"     - problem in buiding VOIP phone hi, Iam trying to test voice call between emulator and ECM board. When i tried in release mode,Iam able to make call from emulator to ECM but voice is transmitting form emulator to ECM only that too not clear,its not workin in viceversa.     - directory / filesystem structure Hi, I'm relatively new to platform builder for CE 5.0 and need a little guidance here. When i'm building my platform I first modify the FILES section in project.bib and then copy them to a more robust structure that I outline in project.dat. I'm just wondering if there's a preffered way of doing this because I need to copy a large directory structure over to my device and this method leaves a copy of each file in \windows (in ROM??) and also puts the files in the robust directories (ie \myDir\a) as well. I like the files to be moved into the other locations but the documentation suggests that this isn't possible.     - boot problem when not connected to PB Hello everybody, I have a system that only runs when platform builder is connected. I enabled 'building for flash image' in the platform settings in order to let it boot standalone. This configuration still works. When I disable 'CE target control support' and 'Kernel debugger' it doesn't boot up anymore. What reason could there be that it does not run with these settings? Please, any help is appreciated.     - build environment Hi All, I am thinking about a build environment for a development I am doing using WinCE5.0 We are having to develop a BSP, Platform and then write maybe a dozen modules that will run on the device. I will be automating the build process which will (I think) Get all the source from CVS Build The BSP. Build the workspace. Build the modules. Build the documentation. Now, I am a bit new to Platform builder but I am looking for a way to build a BSP out of the default WinCE500 folder. Is it possible? I tried to clone one and specify my build directory rather than the default WinCE500 folder but It doesn't seem to let me define the PLATFORM/MyPlatform folder to be anywhere other than WINCE500. Does it's internal build process insist that your PLATFORM is defined within the WINCE500 tree? Is this because of the relative location of the 'Public', 'others' and 'CRC' folders?     - trapping NULL pointer dereference We are using structured exception handling (SEH) at a very high level to trap hardware signals like divide-by-zero and dereferencing a NULL pointer. Apparently Microsoft accomplishes this by trapping the hardware signals at a very low level and then throwing them as SEH exceptions. Unfortunately if we use SEH, we must turn off stack unwinding /GX, which limits our use of C++ exception handling. Also, apparently there is either a compiler extension -- or bug -- that allows hardware signals to be caught using catch(...) when building with Visual C++6. However, our experiments show that this DOES NOT work on WinCE apps built with EVC. Any experience with this? Essentially the problem is that we can not allow the screen (app) to just freeze if there is a bug in the code like divide-by-zero or dereferencing a NULL pointer. They want to be able to display some kind of message to the user instead of the screen just freezing. So, is there any other way besides using SEH to trap hardware signals? Maybe something we can do in the BSP? I'd really like to be able to use C++ exception handling. Also, do you know what the performance hit would be if we were able to turn on stack unwinding?     - File Sharing in 5.0 hi, Could anybody tell me what this NRC_IFAIL and NETBIOS: not an allowed interface is all about (refer to the debug output below)? First time boot up, system will prompt to input USB device driver name and both IrDA and wireless LAN works fine.     - move ce42.net to ppc2003 problem? help plz. hi all: am using the ce42.net on the s3c2410 device. now the wince.net42 os is work well on this device,and image is not use the XIP. But I need the PPC2003. I used the PAK as the document adviced, and type this command : autorun, bldplat -cpu ARMV4 -p SMDK2410 after building and makimg, it produce the nk.nk0(nk.bin). The problem is : nk.nb0(nk.bin) is only about 500k binary data, normally it should about 11M as I used in the CE.NET platform. And I open the ce.bib file in the pak\PGine\release dir and find out almost all of the @CESYSGEN IF CE_MODULES_XXXX is empty and not include the modules file. Below is some copy, it not include the nk.exe, gwes.exe etc. All the moudles file such as nk.exe, filesys.exe,gwes.exe is builded and copied in the release dir. Why it not included in the NK.NB0 file. thanks advance. VS2005 converted my previous smart device C# project based on CF1.0 (VS2003) without problems to CF2.0. When I install CF2.0 on my CE5.0 device, my project works fine and debugging works too (ConmanClient2.exe and CMAccept.exe) But now I want to add CF2.0 to my CE5.0 NK.BIN image so that I don't have to install it each time.     - Access Point with Cisco AIR350 there are different thread discussing this. The driver included in Win_Ce50 for the Cisco AIR 350 adapter does not support the configuration of te CE-Device as Access Point. It would be possible just a ad-hoc or client communication with an access point. My question: Is there a driver for WinCe5.0, perhapa from Cisco, supporting the AP functionality? I have the problem, that actually the cards supporting AP functionality mentioned in the documentation, like WPC11 v3, are replaced on the markt with new versions with a cardbus interace. E.g.     - ActiveSync Scheduled On a Pocket PC device, you can specify the number of minutes that you want it to automatically perform a sync. I don't see how to do this on a CE 4.2 device. I know I can specify /remote to manually perform the sync, but I don't see a parameter to specify the time to do this (every 15 minutes or so). I assume it can be done since it is on the PPC's. Or to greatly increase the buffer size of that window? Back in the CE2.12 days, there was cesh.exe, and I think you could set that up to log to a file (it's been a while). But with 4.2, cesh says "no longer supports -e argument"....     - PC card driver problem I have a PC card driver which works fine for Pocket PC. But it failed on Windows CE.NET device. As I know, the driver model for both platform are same. What might be the problem? Windows CE.NET device processor is PXA255. The 2 Pocket PCs processor are also PXA250 and PXA255. The card driver only read/write data to/from on the card. No interrupt.     - Save Registry OK guys, Friday again, but I got some homework for the weekend. After inlcude Hive-Base registry component and driver, there is Document and Setting\System.hv in ROM, but after suspend or regflushkey(), there is no registry saved. eg. After calibration, I can see 'calibrationdata' key and value under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Hardware\Devicemap\Touch. Save the registry (Suspend or regflushkey(HLM)), reset the device, still ask me to recalibrate; the registry in reginit looks right. I am using CE5.0, PXA255. what could cause the problem?     - configuring ethernet download service When the PB dialog box "Configure Ethernet Download Service" displays, allowing me to choose a device to connect to, the "Available Devices" list remains clear, connected devices do not appear in the list. Our devices are connected and in fact can be pinged from the host platform that PB is running from. What prevents the list from being populated even when the device is present on the network, and ping verifies the connection? As an FYI, the current image running on the device is a retail build, so no KITL is present.     - run application at startup problem Hi all I'm running Platform Builder CE5.0 on a VIA EPIA PC with ATA flash disk. I've added a link to a small exe file to my Windows\Startup folder so that the exe runs on startup. So far, so good. This exe (using code lifted from RunDlg) reads commands and arguments from a txt file and 'runs' the command/arguments using ShellExecuteEx. In this way, I can specify a list of apps to run at startup by changing the txt file on the flash hard disk and do not need any registry interaction. Autoexec.bat anyone? Anyway, my problem is that one of my apps uses the Add_Share function to create a share and therefore I need to wait for the SMB file server to load before starting this app. I have looked at the IsAPIReady function and also the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Events, but nothing seems to indicate how I might achieve this.     - Question on Catalog Hi, I ported the XSC1BD BSP from 4.1 to 5.0 and left out drivers initially just to get kernel working on board. This was a success. I then added drivers. For this i updated the BSP in the WINCE500/Platform directory and reimported using Manage Catalog items, the updated .cec file. My problem is my OSDesignView in Workspace is showing my old version of 5.0 XS1BD BSP without drivers and the catalog is showing the updated 5.0 with drivers. I can't delete BSP item from OSDesign view. I think i could blow away the pbpxml project from PBWorkspaces and start again with a new platform but want to know how to change/update the OSDesignview with regards to BSP.     - How to force .exe to load completely (without demand paging)? Hello all, Just wondering if there is a way to force an application on a compact flash card to load completely into memory, rather than being demand paged. What we are trying to avoid is the possibility of the application crashing if the card is removed while it is running. Also, since the application in question is doing some real time control, I would prefer not to have it paging in from the card. According to the docs, it looks like its possible to turn off demand paging for a filesystem, or for the entire OS. I'd rather not do either - I really just want to do it for a single .exe. We have written the code that launches this application, and would ideally like to be able to cause the application to be fully loaded when we call CreateProcess(). Hi:
I am using wince500 with PB,and new a platform with the choices are :
Interl 27x mainstoneII BSP,Mobile Handheld.

And I also definitely believe that build and sysgen are all
successful.(there are only some warnings after build and sysgen).

After I new a project, and make a choice of Dynamic Link Library and An
empty project, then I click "finish", the system report " New Project Wizard
encountered an error while auto-generating the project.please try again".I
have ever successfully created a project which can create a dll file, but
this time , it's wrong here.

Please help to solve it , is it a bug?

Check the file permissions and rights. I'd suspect something is marked Read
only or access restricted in some way for the username you are using.
