Are there differences between the various Windows Mobile 2005 i.e. Magneto,

WM has a few versions: WM, WM Phone Edition, Smartphone and PMC. They are
tied to the hardware design (i.e. Phone edition is for devices with a radio)
and you can't change from one to the other.

So.. why does someone say "Windows Mobile 5.0 Premium Edition"? (i.e. N520:

What's PMC?

And what about Pocket PC?

There are differences in the applications that are included in each. The MS
site should list those somewhere.

PMC is Portable Media Center but it's not really a Windows Mobile device
those are Pocket PC and SmartPhone.

In other words: the Windows Mobile 2005 PREMIUM EDITION is the same as the
Windows Mobile 2005 O.S. (but it has some additional applications). Is it
right?

Aren't there other Windows Mobile 2005 types i.e. PREMIUM edition,
PROFESSIONAL edition..? I can't find them on MS site..

It's the same operating system, but with some more applications.

Besides to Premium, there are also Entry and Phone edition for WPC design
(PocketPC).
Smartfon is another design of Windows Mobile 5.0/2005 which is usually for
small form factor and without touch panel.

Entry Edition? Are you sure it exists?

I only can find these MS official version of Windows Mobile 5.0:
- Smartphone GSM/CDMA
- Pocket PC Standard
- Pocket PC Premium
- Pocket PC Premium Phone GSM/CDMA

What does MS mean with "Visual Basic Runtimes" optional on every Windows
Mobile 5.0?

I develop with VB!.. what have I to verify?

It is the sku type category for WM 5.0.
I think it should be identical to PPC standard.

I believe it is for the programs developed by embedded VB.
Note that eVB is nothing about VB.net.

Stock Keeping Unit (I knew what it was, but not what the acronym actually
stood for). Basically - it's a part # (something orderable). ie: not a
technology term.
